How do people with a job literally have ZERO money in their bank?

I disagree.
I looked at my amortization schedule and if I owe 50k on the mortgage that's still like 40 payments left paying like $100 a month in interest. That's $4,000 in interest.
Just pay it off now.
Say you have an emergency and you gotta charge $10k on a credit card...you can make two $5k payments and be done with it only costing you like $200 in interest.
Edit: it's not only about the rate. It's about the balance and how many payments you got left

it's a travesty that they teach kids bullshyt in school like algebra, that has no application in the real world, but no basic banking or budgeting classes. that shyt should be mandatory.
but of course they don't wanna teach you skills that would potentially keep you out of debt, cuz that's exactly what they want u to be. in debt.

Nah, I'm good. I was DOWN BAD. Mostly because I spent my post college years moving state to state, either underemployed, unemployed or in a bullshyt job.
Wasn't fukking with my father and my mother (RIP) couldn't help financially.
Finally got a job around that post.
I'm good, but, looking to do a whole lot better with a side hustle. I reached the top of the job I got now.
Could get more responsibilities, but, it wouldn't be better pay or more benefits. Dipping out soon, but, need to save.
I never understand why people pay off an entire bill with one check. I always split mine between two checks & it’s always on time

I say if you can pay your rent/mortgage from one weeks pay, you should be doing decent if you know how to budget.
The problem with budgeting is that it makes you feel like you're oppressed. Nobody likes to feel oppressed. So they spend stupidly, and blame outside forces for their issues.
