my brother lives in DC, in walking distance of the white house (like 10 blocks away), and you DEFINITELY don't need a whip to live in DC. especially since his job is in walking distance of the house. so cutting out car and insurance would save you $300 monthly alone. I'd cop a bike and NEVER drive if I lived out there in DC.

Most people don't live AND work in DC proper, dmv is not a car free area like NYC, especially if you live or work in the burbs.

Most people never stop to think about the money they are spending until they spend it...

So they never see it as them spending 300 a week on bullshyt...they see it as 20 dollars at chili's here...15 dollars at happy hour here...20 dollars to get in the club...oh shyt drinks only 8 dollars and the end having 6 drinks throughout the night...

And quite frankly the average person working in america doesn't make enough money to save anything...if after mortgage/rent, utilities, car note, groceries, you only got a 160 dollars left it's not really feasible for a person to save all of it...people aren't robots they need to unwind and often it cost money to do that...

I know just as many weirdo introverted people saving a ton of money to do...nothing that are miserable as i know people who are always broke and...happy

I know there are poor people, but I'm specifically referring to cats who are able bodied and have decent jobs. If you got a decent gig, how in the hell do you allow yourself to be in a position where you can tell someone "I'm broke"?

Now for me, if I say "I'm broke", that means that I don't have any discretionary income that I want to spend. That doesn't mean that I have ZERO dollars. I ALWAYS have money saved for emergencies or whatever else. but I have heard plenty of otha nikkas/women claim that they have no money til they get paid for instance. how do you allow yourself to live so hand to mouth? how can you be comfortable NOT having jack shyt in case some shyt goes down?? totally irresponsible.

for instance, if I had 50K saved up, and I spent all my "allowance" that I allow myself every two weeks, then to me, I'm broke. what about ya'll?

But a lot of people don't live in the city, it's expensive as hell, the 500 you save in gas/insurance/car payment you'll be spending for housing, you're not coming up. You actually have to live and work in DC to contemplate not needing a car

And someone making 50k as a nurse in cali is going to make 30k in lousianana...COL may be cheaper, but salaries are lower and you're back to square one. Smh at this basic thinking

A lot of people in America have this big ego problem where they should be buying expensive ass gas-guzzlers as cars, when they paying for cable that they can't use, party excessively every weekend, and so on. $311 a month??? thats absurd. my electricity was $160 this month in the dead of winter for a full house, however, my heat was $350 this month also.
