I save around 3 to 500 every month. Not easy at times. Right now since i'm getting around 20 hours plus of OT per check I'm either paying extra to my car payment or putting it aside in my savings account..

but from what I saw, if you live in the city, it could easily be car free. especially since it ain't cold out there in comparison to us being from the chi.

:usure: nikka my thermometer reads 16 degrees, i dont care if its "colder" in the chi, this is some bullshyt, i aint riding or walking nowhere until its atleast 50, maybe 40 but my point is you HAVE to live and work in dc not md or va, to think about being car free, and you have to have friends that are also in the area, you have to only go to clubs and bars in DC. There is a whole lot of shyt to do outside of the 8mile radius of dc that you would miss out on, on top of paying that much more in rent just to "save" on a car note.
You sound like you don't do shyt but work and go home

EXACTLY if you dont have a social life then it is that much easier to save money, throw in a joint income and then there is ALMOST no reason to be completely broke.. Most broke people are probably single.

I'm only on the coli at work and rarely via my iphone when I'm not :rumad:
It also depends on what you eat so that can be a factor. For me most of the time, I'm only eating chicken breast, white rice, potatoes, cereal, and fruit.
Don't ask mw why I'm still fat as hell:snoop:

Easy to say this when you don't have student loans raping you for $1000 a month
:scust: Didn't you got to uf? I remember you posting your graduations pictures. Most students out here usually graduate with about 25k in loans b/c our endowment is so large.
I feel sorry for you:wow:

This is the coli though? You know how it goes always negativity.. Some of the people complaining are shacked up in moms house and have no responsibility... Put them on their own and see if they could afford to stack cash

And y'all nikkas making excel sheets like software...or web services - Mint.com folks - don't do all this for you and more.

I have mint, and I use excel. but one of the things about mint is one of my bank accounts ALWAYS fails to sync with mint unless I go in and re-enter the password. shyt is annoying.

The idea is you should pay yourself first with any money you make, and anyone can do it making just about any amount of money.

Say you don't make a ton of money, so every week you clear $300 for example. You should take SOMETHING of each one of those paychecks to pay yourself with, even $10 bucks.

If you get that $300 check every week, take $10 out and pay yourself in a savings account. That's 52 paychecks in a year, $520 you've saved, even while your making small money. That's just $10 bucks, buy four more packs of ramen and two less frozen pizzas, you know?

my pops used to HAMMER in that point time and time again when I was a kid and growing up. always like  "you gotta pay yourself first". I took that shyt to heart when I became an adult.

Lol @ relocate...like just up and moving to another city/stage is simple for the average person, finding a new job is hard enough, conducting an out do state job search just further complicates things. And someone making 50k as a nurse in cali is going to make 30k in lousianana...COL may be cheaper, but salaries are lower and you're back to square one. Smh at this basic thinking
you sir are a moron...at your basic ass thinking.

It's super simple to move when you don't make a bunch dumbass compounding decisions in your life. You move early, grind, and build up your savings. But nah you idiots prefer to live ya'll dream and go to big cities and get your back broke in. Then on top of that want to buy a new car at the first opp and living in a nice swanky apartment and don't save.

It's the whole "i made it" show off ish that keeps people from saving.

Not judgin'. Givin' examples. Interpretation is key.

$1,000 school loan payment should be payin' for a mean education. That's lawyer/doctor/advanced degree level.

One of my points is that more money should be spent on assets than liabilities. Invest in yourself. Ignorin' that keeps you a slave to the system.
