No I don't think this is a blk woman bashing thread at all. And blk women need to be honest and forthcoming about our issues just like anybody else does.

But b4 we can do that I always take a look at what has been said and look at how that information is disseminated. A lot of lies have been told about blk women in comparison to non-blk women to damage our image.

Honest inventory of our issues has to start with truth first. And as many blk men as I hear trying to insult blk women about their weight, I thought they would be happy to know that their race of women aren't the fattest in America.
Doesn't mean blk women are healthy. Still gotta ways to go there! But it does mean that c00ns are running out of reasons to insult or dismiss the women of their own race.
"Dey ain't got no hair..." "Dey da fattest in America" "Dey got bad attitudes" "Dey only want white men" (I mean I expect to hear shyt like this from racist whites, but from ur own race?!)
A whole media smear campaign against 22 million women just b/c lmao!

But more importantly I don't want blk WOMEN to start believing the shyt they hear about themselves and internalize then act on it...thereby legitimizing these lies...b/c that's the end game purpose anyway.

You're right, its still just an information thread. Besides I believe most of the bullshyt lies people direct at african american women since they know they will hear it the most. Africans aren't out there in africa listening to this shyt on a day to day basis.

Not to mention I've seen african women out here in the UAE, they aren't fat at all and they are pretty damn healthy looking from what I see. Like I said earlier in the thread though, for actual obese women, really its all about going away from cheat processed food and bad home cooked meals to healthy ones then getting moderate exercise in. I remember a friend of mine, his wife was Jamaican and she could cook some badass food that was seasoned perfectly, yet she said it had no sodium :ohlawd:

But enuff about that! Let's talk keto!

Moderate fat, high protein, low carbs.

Been doing it for a couple of months and dropped a bunch of weight.

You really don't have to do anything that drastic tho. Just cook a little more and try to eliminate as many processed foods as possible.
Try going for products that have as few unnatural ingredients as possible. If u do carbs (they ain't evil) go for sprouted natural grains instead of processed bleached grains. And fukk fast food in general or just limit it to once or twice a month. Save money and ur life.

Any healthy easy recipes you guys wanna share?

Last night I had crockpot Swedish meatballs and broccoli.
Sooooo good so easy!

Night b4 last I had green curry chicken with veggies and keto spring rolls

Tonight I'm having teriyaki salmon with loaded cauliflower casserole and cabbage. It's the weekend so I try to cook a lot of what I will eat throughout the week on the weekends.

Gonna make a breakfast frittata for breakfast next week and some keto garlic cheddar biscuits.

Alot of black women are single parents...therefore working on a job and taking care of the kid is the priority.

The black women who do not have kids are probably in shape and have a great body without training because black women have great genetics.

So the ones you do see out of shape either falls into my first paragraph or bad eating combine with bad gentics.

No...i have to disagree with you on that one. I've seen tons of high school chicks with no kids with dun lapped bellies, cellulite, bad skin, and just generally unhealthy looking. The inner city schools have horrible food, they are surrounded by fast food and soul food joints. They don't stress physical education, or athletics. I've seen this with my own eyes in Houston, tx

I did a clinical rotation in nursing school at an elementary school and their version of PE was to have all the kids standing around in the gym talking. And they had vending machines in the cafeteria.

Also, what you said about single mothers is true too. It's difficult to pay attention to your figure when you have no support in raising kids playing mommy and daddy.
But this is not always the case. I've met some black and single white mothers who make being in shape a priority to help snag them a man, and it works. I knew a petite black chick in nursing school who had 2 babies from 2 different men. By the time we graduated school she was pregnant again by an anesthesiologist who she is now married to.

In the 23-30 age bracket (basically millennials) these joints are getting fatter and fatter every year.

I train about 4-6 days a week so maybe I'm noticing it more than men that don't lift.

If you don't like fat bytches dating exclusively Black millennial joints is a challenge.

I was at a spot uptown in NYC the other night, and every joint that wasn't ugly was fat. They were younger than me too, about 22-24 :snoop:

I don't know any Black man that doesn't work out regularly, and yet I only know one Black woman that does work out. I've seen a Black girl in my gym twice in the last 3 years, meanwhile it's packed with cacs and Latinas doing their lower body routines.

I don't understand how these women be wanting nikkas built like superheroes but they look like a bag of laundry.

This is becoming a problem. Even on social media I'm starting to notice young Black women are fatter than ever.

Speak on it brehs.

***disclaimer this is not a Black woman bashing thread this is about solutions***

Everyone wants to look good for social media these days, so they are trying to get a nice body/makeup /hair ect so they'll fit in. Some work out, but some save up for plastic surgery.A lot of women act like or don't believe working out will give them the body they want. They believe a bbl, lipo fat transfer and boob job is the only way to have a nice body. They save up for that instead of a personal trainer and healthier food. & then when someone does have a nice body w/o plastic surgery, they claim it's bc of surgery bc "working out doesn't you that good of a result". I see this all of the time now and it's really sad.

I am not fat, but skinny and out of shape ( I am also not in the age range you listed). I would like to gain all of my muscles and weight back, but I never know what I am supposed to be doing when I go to the gym and never know if I'm doing it right.

How about you guys start going to the gym with your female friends and training them for free or something? I'm sure that would work if they aren't lazy.

:jbhmm: almost 10 years later have we noticed a positive change in this trend or still the same?

I’m really not sure and I’m active in the fitness scene. It feels like since Covid and especially the last couple years there has been a big push with adults and fitness but I feel like I’m more so seeing it in the 30-50 age bracket.

I’m active with a run club in both New Orleans and Lafayette that are predominately black and it’s really great to see our people taking fitness seriously.

OP was a solid poster. :salute:

You raise your daughters to be physically fit. It helped that I married a woman who remains active, too. It is as simple as that. An active family produces physically fit childen who physical health is a part of their family culture. So the work starts at home.

most children are born from fukking and not family creation yet the products of both end up in the same dating pool. So ultimately due to the culture of actual family creation being in the minority we see the results we do.

Facts. I remember my Mom walking 7 miles a day when I was in the house as a kid playing video games. I thought that was insane.

20+ years later here I am running Half-Marathons and shyt. I’ll knock out a 10 mile run like it’s nothing. I give all praise to my Mother who set the tone and subconsciously instilled gems in me.
