Nope. 37% of black men are obese compared to 57% for black women.black men are just as overweight tbh.
Most people aren't educated on health AND the food that is available to them is bad for their health. So lets fix that problem first, before we tell people to "just work out". This goes for more than just black women too.Such as??

My post was to counteract op's point since he was going by stats just to go at black women when blacks in general need to do better in term of health. I'm pretty sure you're not overweight and black people shouldn't use bmi as a measure of health.
Why bother ? Just move to Brazil and you'll see BW that workout and also have natural hair.
Fat acceptance is in full swing...and the thirst for these land dwelling whales is rife.
But anyway, as far as solutions, really I don't think there are black women specific solutions to that. Realistically you just need some motivation to work out, dudes be out here taking fat girls out as long as they have a fat ass or titties.
Also need some friends who are both on a workout regiment and friendly enough to encourage you to go also/take you with them. There are more factors making people fat than just not working out. We have unhealthy ass food in America and ESPECIALLY in the black communities.
More emphasis on home cooked meals (not fried bullshyt and less pork products, those don't count) and such will help. I had a local co-op when I was back home that always had fresh veggies and produce
Speaking of that, more co-ops around the areas would help so people will eat less processed shyt.

Black women definitely are working out as well but I think OP is just speaking from his experience. I can see where Atlanta could be an exception to OP's rule. As far as affording gym memberships. If you're reading this and you feel you can't afford a gym membership, get your bougie ass to a Planet Fitness. Most of the shyt you would pay for at these other joints you might not even use. Gotta give it to the LA Fitness near me though with that warm pool. That shyt looks enticing and almost made me make that switch. Almost. All the equipment I need is at the Planet Fitness.Im in ATL And every gym i go to is filled with black women. I will say more older black women work out than younger. Could be because younger chicks cant afford gym memberships or are banking on genetics until they have kids.

Lol this time I can't even be mad at you. They fired shots first.Or you could worry the prison pipe line, high incarceration rates of black men, & violence that runs rampant in lower income areas due to Black Men.
In the 23-30 age bracket (basically millennials) these joints are getting fatter and fatter every year.
I train about 4-6 days a week so maybe I'm noticing it more than men that don't lift.
If you don't like fat bytches dating exclusively Black millennial joints is a challenge.
I was at a spot uptown in NYC the other night, and every joint that wasn't ugly was fat. They were younger than me too, about 22-24
I don't know any Black man that doesn't work out regularly, and yet I only know one Black woman that does work out. I've seen a Black girl in my gym twice in the last 3 years, meanwhile it's packed with cacs and Latinas doing their lower body routines.
I don't understand how these women be wanting nikkas built like superheroes but they look like a bag of laundry.
This is becoming a problem. Even on social media I'm starting to notice young Black women are fatter than ever.
Speak on it brehs.
