The answer from black people to black people is empowerment. If we feel valued and take care of ourselves and each other, violence will dissipate. We've done it before. Had black towns and cities that were great. White people didn't like that one bit.
White people don't want us going around feeling empowered, proud of ourselves, being happy. Feeling as if we can exist without them, that answer is already a no for them.

Maybe giving them opportunities to work would be a start. It’s a linear effect of opportunity, studies shows when economic opportunities improve young men (who are most at risk) will commit less crimes.
