This reality and perception of reality talk also reminds me of something else Douglas Adams wrote on dealing with perception and intelligence:

why did u make me hula? I was always jawalrussing...

its a taboo topic in philosophy/physics/qm circles to suggest that this reality is a reflection of a more "Real" reality shall we say...

most people consider it going off of the deep end to dabble in it, whether scientific evidence is provided or not...

me, personally, I believe it is unfalsifiable at this point, however, I believe that thoughts are the "realest" "things" and that can be reduced to electric signals in your brain...so who is to say that anything is more than just "coding" to some degree (dna/formulas/algorithms/chemical compositions)..aside from, perhaps, pure matter of some sort.

do you believe in free will or destiny? if you believe in destiny, then a matrix reality is much more believable than if you believe in free will...(jus sayin)

but that's just me playing devils advocate..

The existence of simulated reality is unprovable in any concrete sense: any "evidence" that is directly observed could be another simulation itself. In other words, there is an infinite regress problem with the argument. Even if we are a simulated reality, there is no way to be sure the beings running the simulation are not themselves a simulation, and the operators of that simulation are not a simulation
