Why not? Why couldn't we become self aware and question out existence also. whose to say what the species or being that created this simulation.doesnt have limitless power to keep it running?

Its not a simulation...if you are self aware...because the whole point of the simulation (of this sort) is to create models of behavior as if the observed aren't aware of being observed.

A video game doesn't behave like someone is playing it...

And then...if you think there is some species that powerful and wasted their time building such a computer to make fake AI people like us and live out some simulation then you might as well believe that the Judeo-Christian god made everything...cause it's the same thing...

---------

Actually no. Some futurists like Ray Kurzweil have predicted that we will have computers capable of running billions of human minds by the 2040s. The mistake most people make is they think linearly. They think that the next 20 years of computer technology will evolve like the last 20. When in reality the next 20 years will be the equivalent of 1,000 years of progress compared to the last 20. How come? Because information technology (as Ray Kurzweil calls it) advances exponentially.

Also you are wrong about the amount of computer processing power needed to run our reality. If the universe was as we assume. That objects out there actually exists and they exist at all time whether we are looking at them or not, then you would be right. We would need a computer the size of the universe to run a simulation of the universe if its an objective reality as people assume. HOWEVER, luckily that is not how our reality operates. Instead much like a video game our reality actually only comes into existence when a conscious observer look at it. So in the same way our reality operates, we will be able to make computer simulations in the future of our entire universe all the way down to the quantum scale. But instead of the computer rendering all that detail at all times, it will only render objects when a conscious observer looks at it. With that simple move you can save an infinite amount of power and create a simulation that is realistic to the simulated beings.

Quantum mechanics basically makes it possible to create a simulation of the universe on a budget.

Yeah no...

And we were supposed to have flying cars...(I really hate pop scientists...cause they really make people stupid...)

The universe is objective...you just have subjective experiences

The earth is billions of years old

We have a solar system...

We have history...

We have billions of people....with information stored in their heads...

We have senses

We have mountains of data like stock markets and shyt...

There is no simulation...

Why are you so scared of the truth?

Be more open and you might actually free yourself from the programming that blinds you.

I mean, quantum physicists theorize that the universe is a hologram, which is somewhat similar to what you're suggesting, plus other scientists claim they find "computer code" in the laws of physics.

Basically it breaks down like this, when matter enters a black hole, there's a point where the 3-dimensional object gets broken down into 2-dimensional "bits" which get stuck on the flat plane of the black hole's event horizon. So all of the information of the 3-dimensional object is there in 2-dimensional bits, and a 3-dimensional object represented on a flat plane is a hologram. Then it gets extended further, because the laws of physics don't forbid the possibility that our entire universe exists on the event horizon of a supermassive black hole, which means our entire universe could be a hologram.

Or you could go the social scientific way about it, "Simulation/Simulacra" and how we live in a facetious existence where things no longer represent anything "real."

No they mean simulation like we live inside a computer...on some matrix shyt and somebody is running it...

I've believed for a very long time that computers and computer simulations/video games etc. are a microcosm of the human body/brain and life/reality.

The human body is like the body of the computer, the brain is the cpu, and reality is like the programs/games being run by the cpu. And in an attempt to understand this, AND IMO much more importantly to them and the international scientific community, scientists use this computer simulation theory as an attempt to discredit God as the intelligent designer of our reality.

So basically when we create computer simulations and video games and holograms we are simulating/emulating the design of the universe.

It's laughable to me that these so called academics and intellectuals confidently put forth this "reality as a computer simulation" theory while simultaneously patronizing those who believe in God. The computer simulation theory is just ascribing the qualities of God to another living being that would have created the simulation.

There's ZERO evidence of that. Once again I will direct you to the "Delayed Choice Quantum Eraser Experiment". Its a legit science experiment performed for the first time in 1999 and done many times over since then. It confirms beyond a doubt that our reality is NOT objective. It says that our reality is subjective. And that our conscious mind determines what the reality we live in renders.

You are basically talking like Albert Einstein in the 1920s when Quantum Mechanics was just starting and he was refusing to accept the theories. Since then we've had mountains of experiments that have proven Quantum Mechanics to be one of the very best theories in the history of science.

Once again. There is zero evidence we live in an objective reality. ZERO.

Exactly. Observed particles behave differently than unobserved particles. You’re up on it.

Get really drunk...right....

Check an NBA game box score...write it down....

Go to sleep...

Wake up...

Check the box score...

It didn't change right....

Cause we have objectivity...

And like I said...you are totally disqualified from "believing in science" since you wanna reject it when you think the Earth isn't round....when every single scientist worth his or her salt think it is...

Anyway...

I'll leave this here for the #QuantumWooBros

Physicists Confirm That We're Not Living In a Computer Simulation — NOVA Next | PBS
Scientists have discovered that it’s impossible to model the physics of our universe on even the biggest computer.

What that means is that we’re probably not living in a computer simulation.

Theoretical physicists Zohar Ringel and Dmitry Kovrizhin from the University of Oxford and the Hebrew University in Israel applied Monte Carlo simulations (computations used to generate probabilities) to quantum objects moving through various dimensions and found that classical systems cannot create the mathematics necessary to describe quantum systems. They showed this by proving that classical physics can’t erase the sign problem, a particular quirk of quantum Monte Carlo simulations of gravitational anomalies (like warped spacetime, except in this case the researchers used an analogue from condensed matter physics).

Observed particles act like particles. Unobserved particles act like waves (aka probabilities).

If our reality was objective this would make zero sense. However, in a subjective simulated reality it makes perfect sense. In order to save power, the computer rendering our reality only renders particles and objects when we look at them. Otherwise there is no reason to render them and instead of point particles they are just waves of probabilities.

Quantum Mechanics = death of our universe as an objective reality

Deja Vu is an alternate timeline crossing the current one. But yes, it's possible that this universe is one big simulation. Especially since it was created by GOD, who's kingdom already existed.
