One thing i can agree with. U can save whatever it depends on what you doing with it. Sometimes its best 2 go thru the struggle, that how u become yourself and u appreciate that shyt so much more.
That's how you find out what's worth your hard work and time and what isn't. You find out how smart you are or how dumb you are, and you plan accordingly. That's what life is, sink or swim do or die.

depends on the situation: I have a friend who is 31 owns car, makes about $65,000 which here in San Antonio isnt bad. He has a 3 year daughter. He had been living by himself since he graduated college 9 years ago, however; his mother recently has had health issues and at her age doesnt want to live alone anymore after doing so since he left for college, so they just moved into a house. I believe they go 50/50 on the bills. I dont see nothing wrong with that and looked at it completely different than if an adult male or woman is living with their parents because they lack drive, are immature, or just dont know how to take care of themself and are more of a burden for their parents.

man you must live down south, rent here ain't cheap. paying 1.7k for rent :wtf: i know people who don't even pay that much for mortgage

i plan on leaving once i graduate but hey if people wanna stay can't knock them, my homeboy is 27 but he still lives at home and saves like $4k a week from his work.

4k a week...in two months he'd have a down payment on a really nice house...pathetic

Whole point of life is self sufficiency and survival...I'm absolutely god smacked about what I'm reading in here..makes so much sense how there's posters with 20000+ posts in a year

Man god bless those that can live at home like that..maybe I have way too much pride, but I was always motivated to become my own man since I was little.

Cause cost of livin so damn high in some parts of the country.

People don't want to change the status quo, but somehow believe that the system of having a job can take care of them :wtf:

This ain't the 70s no more. Most people who moved out when they were young live down south or went to the military.

Because it doesn't cost them anything. Government "assistance" make the upfront costs of having children virtually non existent. It's just like student loans, people don't realize the impact until WAY after graduation.

It's just dumb. :mindblown:

You living in a dangerous ass place just because it's free? And raising your kids to think that's OK in life?

Moved out when I was 18. After I got out of the active duty Air Force I came home and lived with my mom for a total of a month. As soon as I came back I knew it wasn't going to work. She didn't realize that I was a grown ass man that was living on my own for years. She would as me where I was going and why I was out so late and I was, yeah this is not going to work. But if I was smarter I would have gutted it out and stacked my paper. Like others have said stay until you are really in an position to be comfortable on your own.
Well this is deppressing. Doesn't your gi bill cover room and board???

shyt is fukking brutal in New York. I know my friends said it's just better to live with your parents and work because if you try to get your own place, you might as well hand your paycheck to the landlord every week.

Exactly. People think that everywhere is like Georgia or Texas where you can just get up n leave. I know people who work nearly 100 hours a week and never get to enjoy their apartment. Just work to pay for a glorified hotel. Makes no sense.

O,
This was some years ago and yes I had 100% of the post 911 GI bill. I wasn't massively struggling but I had to paid rent and other bills with my GI bill money. With that money I could of stayed at home and give my mom some of it to help out, and stacked the rest. I have a B.A. and a decent job so most people I know would say I'm doing good. I feel like i'm just doing decent and i could of been further ahead with smarter decision making when I was younger. I think about it more now because I started a business and I would of had more capital to put into it if I would of stayed home longer. So don't be depressed, I left home early and I am fine, but I could be doing even better if I was just able to suck it up for a few more years.
