I'm definitely down for therapy because it can be helpful talking to someone unbiased. Blacks tend to look down upon therapy and people with mental health issues. Some blacks don't even take care of their physical health, aliments, and manage their weight and nutrition...so I can see them not taking care of their mental health. I supposed it is seen as a weakness.
Now, people still need to be realistic and realize that the psychologist/counselor can't magically cure all of ur issues. Its important to find a good counselor or specialist who is tailored to ur unique or specific issues. Then, you will have to be able to help urself and be willing to put in work.
And with some issues in life, it takes support, wisdom, and experience to figure out how to solve some issues. I look at my self esteem issues in the past and I wish I known back in high school what I know now.
