all New York artists should learn from Rocky/Yams. They straight up showed y'all how it's done.

The rest :russell:

Rocky is one of the biggest artists of modern hip hop, but he barely counts? :mjlol: Isn't he in the new Zoolander movie? Dude is selling MILLIONS of Youtube plays for songs that were never played once on radio.

How long is this "Rocky aint relevant" narrative gonna last? At this point we've more than passed ostrich-head-in-the-sand territory.

who?

What has he made?

I completely agree. Producers gotta step it up.
Boi1da's Quinten Miller.

That tape wasn't just fire. It's one of the strongest projects I've ever heard in hip hop. Trust me, that tape has longevity like a muthafukka.

But hey, strongest project outta New York in 5 years, maybe a decade. Catapults rapper to instant stardom. But nothing to learn, right? :mjlol:

Flatbush Zombies... :wow:

Why are these cats so fukking slept on!!!!????:why:

because they're trash

Lol NY'ers gonna come in here and go in people shytting on it while finding a way to insert some hate about the souths music
Also ITT:

People not from NY and from flyover states and small towns commenting on a city and it's music they only know through forums like this one, a relative that happens to live in Long Island, and from a trip made there in 2006.
My question to you is, why is this thread so lazy? Why did you think just writing "title" suffices as a thread description as opposed to posting or listing actual examples of artists from said "recent NY hip hop scene" :upsetfavre:
Yea, I was expecting more cats I ain't never heard of.

Good thread though.

the albums i bump when they first come out but then it gets boring to me after a few weeks of playing. i then go skim through to the tracks i want to hear :yeshrug::yeshrug:

I know the albums are weak. I was probably the first person to tell people this. I know when Rocky drops hot shyt and when he drops mediocre or wack shyt. I'm not some deluded listener that accepts everything an artist does as gospel.

I'll say it again.

I don't understand this at all. There would no Ferg if not for Rocky. To me, Ferg is just a watered down version of Rocky.

But I'm willing to see how Ferg is better than Rocky. Please explain.
