What are your parameters? What popped into your head? What made you click the thread?

See, the word success is itself a trick of the Devilsh language as it tells you exactly whats needed and expected to ascend if you're playing via the rules they set and wish to play within their paradigm:

Suck (Oral, sustenance, nourishment) + Cess (Waste, filth, corruption) = Consume Excrement to win, brehs. One the road to riches and diamond rings, the prettiest of people will do the ugliest of things in exchange for a few bills...

Thats by the by, just sprinkling some game into your frame for those that didn't break the cypher. How do you know you've "Made it"?

As usual, there is a deeper aspect to this about mindset, motivation and definition of Self as well as the contrast of one who takes a minus and makes it to zero, intact, when compared to one born into ten digits and adds nothing whilst living a victory lap.

It depends. All I wanted was my own place, once I had it, I was immediately depressed. Picked up cooking, just to fill the boredom. Ended up enjoying it more than usual and it helped people come over.
Money-wise? I always lived within my means. Never missed a payment on anything even through the roughest times and always had a decent amount of savings. I know I'm comfortable because I never feel the need to check my bank account after a purchase.

Its about checking off goals on your individual list. Its different for everybody cause most people aren't going to the same place.

Its like going to a highway rest stop and asking a bunch of truckers, weekend warriors, and moms in minivans "how do you know when you have arrived?"
  • The trucker will say once he sees his distribution center in Reno.
  • The mom will say once she sees the tips of the disneyland castle
  • The weekend warrior will say once he sees a craps table in vegas.
  • Basically, Different destinations, for different folks.

No path is particularly wrong or right. creative thinkers will tailor their path to their own desires, while lazy folks will borrow somebody else's template. Think of how lazy person would settle for a dog, a wife, and a picket fenced home in Cleveland. Conversely a creative thinker will aim to climb XYZ mountain or be the first to do ABC activity.

@Complexion , i do agree with you that it is some people's goal to control the goals/destinations of others. For example, a creative person who dreams of being CEO of "white-picket-fence incorporated ™ " is highly incentivized to make you want to live in that home with the picket fence so that his own personal destination is achieved. But i dont think of that CEO as particularly wrong or evil for involving others in his goals; if the folks he swindles are happy i dont see n issue. Effectively, ignorance is bliss and i argue its immoral to pull someone out out of that happiness. Let them eat their steak.:manny:
