How do you propose discussing immigration without sounding like a racist/nazi/xenophobe?

We put laws in place to make becoming a citizen difficult. We secretly love illegal immigration because since sb 1070 we can keep them in private prisons and "entrepreneurs" who invested in prisons can make money. If you're not concerned with the social aspect but strictly the fact that they're breaking an unjust law :camby:
i'm all for immigration reform, but just because you live next door doesn't mean you get to hike across

people need to stop with this shyt, mexico is a fuking racist ass society and they hate black people as much as any white american hates black people

the only difference between people that descended from Spanish colonist and people that descended from english colonists is.........nothing, there is no difference as far as African descendant people are concerned, both mexico and the us have a 400 year history of enslaving and committing genocide, they are not on the side of black people

the fact that enslaving genocidal english speaking colonists stole land from enslaving genocidal spanish speaking colonist is not some great wrong that black people need to correct

Exactly. Its just another example of how we tend to prioritize other people's issues over our own.

By not pretending that immigration is a problem that requires national attention.
for the same reason we aren't talking about the epidemic of illegal j walking...
Oh come on. Y'all seriously believe immigration isn't a national concern? There isn't one serious politician who would agree with that, including Obama, Clinton or Sanders. There are 11.5 million illegal immigrants residing in the US, that's not some insignificant number when it comes to economics and the employment rate. Immigration reform is a bipartisan issue, both sides of the aisle acknowledge that. The American immigration apparatus is obviously broken.

I completely support heavily penalizing companies that do this.

Well thats tough. International trade deals never work for 100% of people.

In theory, everyone is. In the facts, you can't penalize big companies who do it because those big companies represent too much money (hence have politicians' ears) and small companies may lose the little profit that allows them to stay afloat. In both cases the bosses of the companies can pressure against penalizing by arguing that without cheap labor they will make less profit (bad for the overall economy) and will have to lay off those who work legally (even worse for the economy). That's why serious legislation for penalizing illegal work never really happens, and that's why illegals keep finding jobs, despite all the rah-rah.

Regarding international trade, yeah that's more complex but we all know that trade agreements are never "negotiated" on equal footing, which is the nature of the game, and indeed no "agreement" (even a "true" agreement) satisfies everyone, but the thing is that these trade agreements are FAR from that, especially because you don't have equal economies in the discussion. In the West you have capital-intesive and subsidized economies that are "mature", while in Africa for example you have labor-extensive unsubsidized developping economies. The former will always be more competitive than the latter. The problem is, while Europe and the US could protect their growing economies (which they both did and stil do, despite the rhetoric about free trade and free market), African countries cannot protect theirs (mainly because their political choices are limited since the debt crisis and, well, the risk of having an "accident" or some "rebels" taking over) they have to open up local economies, that have a hard time competing with western ones.

That's how you end up with some European products in Africa that are cheaper than local ones :wow:

You realise that a large number of immigrants are actually highly skilled right? Mexican doctors and architects edged out by outsourcing are turning into american cleaners and builders. Your assumptions start out highly flawed as usual.

In addition try to focus on more important socio-economic factors. We're outsourcing our own jobs? We're leading most of the world in mechanizing the workplace? Inflation continues while wages stagnate? A collective of large companies (google, apple, amazon) are avoiding taxes around the amount of a small country's gdp, with no repercussions? If these issues were put right, there would be a far larger impact on society than 'closing our borders'

But this wouldnt suit your/the governments view as it doesnt implicate that foreign/poor people are to blame for everything thats wrong

I don't care about "claims" to land.

We're here.

They're there.

Stop getting in your feelings. No one "claims" land based on some shyt from 1000 years ago. We're talking about a nation-state's policy towards its residents.
Y'all don't say that bullshyt when you send $3 billion of aid to the Cacs in Israel pretending to be Hebrew Israelites
:sas1::sas2:
Can you even focus? :what:
seems like he can. Amend your false facts before pointing your finger. People DO claim land based on some shyt from a 1000 years ago. The rich white hegemonic gods of yours are the only ones allowed to do so

you own what you control. I don't care if 1000 years ago, aztecs used to roam in san francisco.

They don't now.

Good point. A lot of migrants (legal or illegal) are (highly) qualified.

People don't understand the TON of barriers people from other countries have to enter the labor market. That's why i laugh when I hear people talk about the "free market". Ain't nothing "free", the labor market is heavily regulated everywhere.

Bruh he's a typical confused European who doesn't know his history. He wonders why people always jump on his bullshyt neo-kkkon rhetoric that a barely literate 5 year old can shut down. He's prolly gonna vote for Bush in 2016
