It's his fault though. He made the NBA a star first league. Pushed Jordan over everybody. Then the urge to find the next Jordan. Then these dumbass rules for whatever reasons.
Baseball & Football are always about teams, sure some individual players get pushed but it's mainly about the team.
All-Star Weekend is Garbage. All-Stars should be made to compete in all events, not D-League players.
Exactly. I don't think he'll ever admit it, but I think he knows he made a mistake by making MJ the focal point of the league like he did. It got to the point that if you wasn't in a major market (LA or NY or Boston) or a team with significant history (Seattle or Detroit) you were almost automatically a Bulls fan.
That coupled with the fact that NBA fans might be the most ignorant about their history than any of the other major sports. I think it's especially true with the commentators. Ever since MJ they're always looking for someone else to give the torch to and start throwing out hyperbole whether they're worth the hype or not. I remember a MJ interview where he shot down that he was the GOAT and started name dropping older players (Wilt, Big O, Kareem, Bill etc) and I think afterwards they were tryna claim he was being humble.
That nikka's an a$$hole. He ain't got humble in him. Even he saw it. There's always an argument. There's never a definitive GOAT......outside of Jerry Rice.....
