It's his fault though. He made the NBA a star first league. Pushed Jordan over everybody. Then the urge to find the next Jordan. Then these dumbass rules for whatever reasons.

Baseball & Football are always about teams, sure some individual players get pushed but it's mainly about the team.

All-Star Weekend is Garbage. All-Stars should be made to compete in all events, not D-League players.

Bruh, if anyone of the Dunk Participants last night did the dunks they were doing in the 80s they would not miss.

How could that fact be lost on someone?

The dunks these dudes are trying these days are damn near impossible to heat on the first try.

:usure:/:comeon:

Were the dunks that Nate had like 30 attempts on really that much more advanced than what Spud was doing? Was that simple ass "I'ma hold on to the rim so I can dunk the ball twice" shyt that Green tried yesterday really that hard? Many of the coldest dunks, nikkas complete on the first or second attempt so that's just a cop out.

I don't think it's money when you talk about nikkas like Chuck because players now (superstars at least) are getting jerked in terms of money. Just look at salary growth in baseball and football and compare it to basketball. Shaq and KG made more money 15 years ago than anybody except Kobe is making now.

I think the 80/90s players main beef with this generation is being more concerned with their brands then they are with competition. Slam Dunk contest is a perfect example. Jordan, Nique, Dr. J all participated in multiple dunk contests. It wasn't about hurting your image or "I'ma do one so I can say I did it"...nikkas was actually competing over that shyt. Beyond that I remember the days when nikkas only got one do over at then it was a wrap. nikkas out there looking like they are alone in the gym practicing with all those misses.

The NBA has the highest average salary than any of the 4 major sports. :rudy:

Exactly. I don't think he'll ever admit it, but I think he knows he made a mistake by making MJ the focal point of the league like he did. It got to the point that if you wasn't in a major market (LA or NY or Boston) or a team with significant history (Seattle or Detroit) you were almost automatically a Bulls fan.

That coupled with the fact that NBA fans might be the most ignorant about their history than any of the other major sports. I think it's especially true with the commentators. Ever since MJ they're always looking for someone else to give the torch to and start throwing out hyperbole whether they're worth the hype or not. I remember a MJ interview where he shot down that he was the GOAT and started name dropping older players (Wilt, Big O, Kareem, Bill etc) and I think afterwards they were tryna claim he was being humble.

:rudy:

That nikka's an a$$hole. He ain't got humble in him. Even he saw it. There's always an argument. There's never a definitive GOAT......outside of Jerry Rice.....

I guess you missed the bolded. :heh: I am also guessing you weren't aware that NBA rosters are a fraction of the size of MLB, NHL, and especially football rosters. Beyond that salaries in baseball and football have been on the steady rise for the last two decades. Basketball salaries started spiking in the late 90's and have actually gone backwards FOR SUPERSTARS
