Well that was because he was being used as a vessel to shyt on Harden. Who posters on this site have stated on numerous occasions that they literally want to see die on the court.
A lot of us knew who Russ was a player a long time before Harden rose to prominence.

When he came to Houston I was happy at first, changed cities but didn't change his ways. Too many bonehead plays, now I'm glad he's gone. Don't even like John Wall but we have to keep trying something.
This is not true. His personality stayed the same but he deferred and gave in a lot in Houston. He played off the ball, dominated less and took less threes. His game changed in Houston, nobody else’s did. He didn’t set up the offense or run it like he should’ve since Hardens offense is more easily suited to spotting up or playing off ball. Hardens shoots over 40% on catch and shoot threes. why haven’t the coach or gm sought out to exploit this more.

I don’t care what anybody says, I have respect for his passion to the game. He’s not missing games or taking plays off. He’s not load managing. He just goes out and plays the game with his all. He didn’t come into a easy situation there in Houston that was flexible.

He can still ball he just isn't as efficient or athletic. He still dropped 27 on 47% FG
