If u kinda think about it, their secret to success was putting in the work. They had the same independent grind.


Both of em started off under stars and did their own thing once their situations didn’t work out. Curren$y charged it to the game and went on to do big things. Meanwhile, Gudda Gudda is the Slo Down of YM.

ROC could have dissed Busta like Reek Da Villain but he went on to do big things while Reek is somewhere riding the subway.

Probably bought his house before shyt got crazy in the south too. Pretty easy for someone like him to eat off tour money when you got a loyal base and you don't owe a record label millions.

Boosie had some (mostly regional) hits, but he was never big enough nationally that his his albums could consistently go Platinum back in the pre-streaming era & he usually performed in club venues. So how he living so well?

Eh it's not some secret. He has multiple businesses, he lives on the road, his merch is constantly sold out, his vinyl sales....you do the math.

You know who else has more money than most people's favorite young-ish rappers? Russ. And Logic. and Dom Kennedy. If you're popping independently with an active fanbase you're gonna eat better than people who are paying back seven figure advances every couple years.
