Michael Flynn as Security Advisor, John Kelly as Director of Homeland Security and Mad Dog Mattis as Secretary of Defense.

On one hand, people were concerned about his lack of knowledge on foreign policy and internal security issues so their expertise is well needed.

On the other hand, this could point to going against his campaign promises of non-interventionist policy and could indicate a more hawkish approach. There are also concerns about the government being overly militaristic in general.

Where do you stand on these three? I'm not personally a Flynn fan, am indifferent on Kelly and I like Mattis. I think the pros outweigh the cons but can see both sides of the argument.

I don't know any pro's to the government being run by hard right wing extremist ex military men in their 60's.....These men are extremely prejudice, bitter, angry, and have a militaristic view of the world. I don't see how you have someone whose child died at the hands of terrorists in charge of Homeland Security. They are going to push Muslim communities even harder, you think the cases put together using entrapment and wiretaps were perhaps unfair and heavy handed? This new admin will be even more extreme.

Mattis seems to have bi-partisan support..I haven't heard much on the Kelly front..Flynn seems like a nut.

Mattis hasn't even met the condition required to hold the position. He's only 3 years retired from the Marine Corps. What happened to civilian control of the military? And Michael Flynn is a national security threat.

Flynn may have problems but Mattis is pretty universally liked and respected. Yeah he's a "mean tough guy" but so what? It's defense. What the media doesn't report on is how well versed in literature and such he is. "The condition" is completely arbitrary.

Lucky for us, Trump has Mattis all wrong: Democratic congressman

What I respect about what Trump and Pence are doing is that they are cutting out the middle man.

We know our country is run by corporations, billionaires and the Military Industrial Complex so all these cabinet positions are just direct representatives from those factions.

Why put puppets in there when you can just put the puppeteers?

Carson and Pruitt are the biggest puppets. Everyone else seems to be a billionaire or recently retired General

Just a correction: these Generals are civilians now. They are retired. They would also have to be confirmed by the Senate, which are elected by the people.

This isn't exactly a junta here. It deserves scrutiny for sure but let's not get out of hand.
