TBH if English and Engineering degrees got you the same job I'd still choose Engineering. I'd take rather take my chances with Calculus/Differential Equations/Physics/Circuits/Signals/Dynamics/ETC... vs writing a College paper any day

Who said the same salary? I would be paying the engineer 80k out the gate while the English Major 65k. Point is, both salaries are living wages for most areas in the US.

Raise wages for everywhere, not just cause some CEO dictates the market. Minimum wage back in 1970 was equilvalent to $20 per hour today. Point is, wages everywhere are too low.

2019, you can search any and every career along with the prospects, pay, and benefits. Everybody this day and age know how expensive college is, if not, millennial parents will let them know.

That’s fine, but if they know their job prospects are not high paying what are they supposed to do? Not go to college? They can not go to college, but like I said they are forced to by their parents and many of them think any degree will do.

This is more in the past than it is now because there’s a lot more information out there now.

So if they pick a degree they think they can get and hope for the best.

I also remember dudes grades weren't that great to begin with.

Maybe he should have figured out earlier that maybe being a dentist wasn't his calling.

Or if he was really set on it, picked up a trade to help mitigate the debt he was incurring while chasing his dreams.

Instead he and his wife will be saddled with a mountain of debt that'll take a lifetime to pay off and his children will suffer because he "chased his dreams" to the point of stubbornness and stupidity.
