I still download everything for free cause I wanna actually own it not just hope it's still on Tidal when I wanna hear it. I've already favorited some stuff on Tidal then when I've gone back to it a couple months later it's greyed out so yeah. I download everything but I still have Tidal to support Jay

Hi-Fi is definitely worth it's by far better sound quality than the other streaming services plus they got concerts and good podcasts
Pretty much the same reasons I keep my subscription. I like actually owning my music in case the streaming service is on some bullshyt or have connectivity problems.

I did used to have this to support Jay, the artists and because hip hop is actually treated well on that streaming service as far as finding new stuff goes.

I'm unsure of how much this actually supports the artist though, 1/1500 streams for an album sale is :mindblown:

black love, unity, and music
At least I go out and actually buy my favorite artists music, while that loser (and the other losers dapping his posts calling me a “cheap fukk” and calling others cacs) spend time crying at others who don’t agree with investing in Tidal...one of the many streaming services where you’re still not actually owning the music.
if $20/mo is too much for your pockets im sure you aint buying shyt.

you can also use the athame program download FLAC (including the 24bit) for offline listening.
Deezer offer 16bit FLAC
https://www.deezer.com/en/offers/hifi

Tidal HiFi offers 24bit FLAC
but 3 out of 10 R&B and Hip Hop releases are in 24bit FLAC....everything else is in 16bit

HiFi Tidal with Iphone USB connection to car is the ONLY way you should be listening to music in the car. Any other way is uncivilized!

:mjpls:

lol @ "only"

24bit FLAC are available to download on torrents or if you have a Tidal Hi-Fi account (you can download the FLAC w/ Athame https://svbnet.co/athame/ )

download the actual FLAC, copy to portable HDD...my Pioneer head unit from 2016 plays 24bit FLAC seamlessly

Don't listen to these clowns.

The difference in audio quality is neglible.

This is coming from somebody who has been in high end studios, and has has some of the best DACs and headphones ever made.

A well encoded 320kbps mp3 and Flac is hardly noticeable if at all.

There was a test done a while back with audio engineers if they could tell the difference between 320 mp3 and Flac.....it was.hit and miss
..

Get 320 and go on about your day

If you are primarily listening to hip-hop and R&B then no it is not worth it. The only time I definitely noticed a difference is when I listened to Hector Lavoe, Tidal would pick up certain layers of sound that wasn't nearly apparent on Spotify. I did not notice a change when I listened to hip-hop and R&B though.

And I'm using a ATH M50's with FiiO E7 DAC Amplifier. You don't have to spend mad bread to get high quality sound.

Rose gold is right, there isnt much of a difference between flac and mp3 320 (or AAC 256), but the keywords are properly encoded files.

Flac is like a master file or a digital version of your CD, you make the mp3s or other files out of that to maintain quality. If you transcode a mp3 to mp3 or mp3 to flac you're not attaining quality and in some cases you're losing quality like that.

It's complex shyt, but Tidal you should focus on the Masters (master tape used by label or engineer), 24 bits and MQA mean nothing for listening to your music.
