I'm going by the previous two games, the video posted in the op, and impressions I've read. Nothing says that this game will be wildly different from its predecessors, so it's safe to assume it will play very similarly. If they change things up a lot that would be cool to hear about and might raise my interest in the game.

And I'm not sure what Ryse has to do with the conversation about infamous.
And the previous two games had fun combat. Again I beat both games and I find it silly when people say the combat in Infamous games are bad. Am I saying it's perfect?? No. I have tons of critiques for the game but they're not the actual controls or combat which I found pretty good. Also it's an infamous game, why would it be wildly different?? An infamous game will play like Infamous, i don't see what's wrong with that. Honestly I think you just love finding things to nitpick about just to be on some "look I have an opinion that's different guys." You tried using that "gameplay is not that great" argument for TLOU and you issued statements like "You can use a bat throughout the whole game it don't matter" and that was just false. that's all. :yeshrug:

Also Ryse has to do to with this because you said animations and things don't look like they're connecting which quite frankly sounds like a load of bs. If you played Ryse you'd see so many instances where sword strikes look like they didn't even land or you'd hear a hit sound anyway.

That compared to say Bayonetta, Gow, MGR or DMC looks pretty rough.

Infamous is one of those games where "watching" it doesn't feel as good as playing it. It may "look" pretty mindless but when you're playing it it's fun running around shooting and climbing.

Yeah, I agree with this quite a bit.

My only complaint about Infamous is that they still treat his powers similar to shooter games, rather than just looking/feeling/reacting totally like shooting out said specific powers. Like, in the first one, with the electricity, I thought it'd been better if all his shots actually had lightning zig-zag types of random streaks to them when shooting at folks, rather than just balls of electricity/lines/dots/etc. for most of his shots.

In this one I just read that you hold down R2 to shoot instead of repeatedly tapping R1.

You claim I'm nitpicking but you also acknowledge that I'm not the only one who's said similar things about the combat. It's ok if you find it fun, I'm not denying that. Just giving my opinion on the game. And there is nothing wrong with it being an infamous game. People who liked it before will undoubtedly like it again. And people who found it meh will probably feel the same way.

Still has nothing to do with infamous. Not sure why you keep bringing it up.

What I ment about the animations in infamous is not about hit detection, it's that the character doesn't react to things he hits. The swing animation is the same wether you hit or miss so it never feels like your hitting anything.

Gang violence...
button mashing is a fair criticism based on that last video. however, i have seen the ign video as well, and that one had a special "super hero response team" show up with gear and weapons that required delsin to use his powers strategically. i remember there was some kind of heavy armored big dude that required delsin to use a particular power to knock him down, also, it seems that these demo builds allow you to take tons of damage with no consequence, in the real game you may need to be more concerned about getting hit.

i wouldnt expect a super hero to be challenged by any one fight with normal people, but instead challenged by the odds against him because of the numbers of enemies, special equipment they can deploy, or some almost impossible conditions set on him like having to rescue a bunch of people with time being a factor, etc. as long as the game gets that kind of thing down, i dont think there will be a problem. that can be harder to convey in a video

I think you misunderstood my stance, cuz that's neither here or there regarding what I was talking about. So the real question is, were you just being informative, sans any request to do so:mjpls:, ignorant:ufdup: or an a$$hole:smugdraper:? Or perhaps even all of the above.:banderas:

Most games with varied attacks give you specific reasons and situations to use different attacks. This particular playthrough looked like he was doing whatever he wanted to do and he could be just as good doing one specific thing.

EDIT: @MeachTheMonster said it better than I

As Fatboi stated earlier, I doubt they're pulling out all the stops in a few preview demo feeds and I'd rather they don't anywayz. Also, both the previous Infamous games did just that, having to use (or being of much greater benefit) select abilities against certain enemies rather than just spamming any given 1 attack and thinking you'll be guaranteed success. Most of these vids has him fighting fodder enemies, so I wouldn't think it would take excessive, specific means to taking them down.

Over on the PlayStation Blog the Q&A took place, and Fleming rolled out some info about lead protagonist Delsin Rowe's powers... including his ability to harness Tron. Well, actually no... he has the ability to harness Neon. I don't know what that means. However, it looks like Tron: Legacy, so technically, Delsin Rowe has the power to harness Tron... as explained by Fleming...
“To avoid spoiling the game, we’ve really only talked about Smoke and Neon powers, and we’re keeping that stance until the game launches.”
“One of the things we haven’t talked about is how many powers are in each set, and how many upgrades are available. Without putting specific numbers on it, there’s a substantial number of individual powers in each set, and many — if not all of them — are upgradeable.”

I hope there's like 5-8 different powers to ultimately acquire. Even more on the hopeful front, is that they're all interchangeable within 1 playthru. They can still do the good/evil variations of them though. That'd just make it even iller.
