Dude made the term "crossover" a household term. Remember, us sports fans know what a crossover is, cats who don't watch sports never even heard of the term before AI. Believe it or not there are people, even famous people that don't know what a crossover is today. But the fact that they know it's a word is because of AI.
Because of the above, I have to think AI was the most influential cat that ever made it into the NBA. Jordan being the only other player on the same level.

They did (carrying over), but eventually started to ignore it. I honestly think it was because the move was nearly unguardable because of the speed/quickness he had with it. You literally couldn't stay in front of AI.
What kills me is seeing how much love this guy gets on other forums like realgm, but everyone just calls him nothing but a chucker here.

Every sports fan, from the hardcore to the most casual, even down to people who didnt fukk with the nba like that, they knew who Iverson was. His jersey was everywhere on kids/teenagers in the early mid 2000s. He influenced the popular culture in that era because he was a symbol of the late 90s early 2000s. He was like a pure product of the era. He fitted in the early 2000s picture perfectly. And a lot of black people related to him easily because he didnt change who he was. He stayed true to himself and never rejected his roots or change his personality in order to be more corporate.
Back in the day as a very young kid, you could see white air force ones, xxxl white tees, baggy jeans and black iverson sixers jersey. It was un-avoidable. He dictacted the fashion back then,.
Back in the day, non-NBA fans knew at least who Kobe was, who Shaq was, obviously who MJ was, and who Iverson was. When people outside the basketball fandom sphere know your name, you are not niche. You are a part of popular culture. Immortalized.
