Jay aint influence me or nikkas I know to do shyt...Cam'ron had more influence over me and my nikkas than Jay :yeshrug:

I don't follow corny NY nikkas

I'm not from NY...I don't do what they do, I don't care what they do. So all that hype about what Jay Z has done is nothing to me because nikkas don't/didn't fukk with Jay how you internet nikkas claim where I'm from.

We had our own influences and Jay Z ain't one, Bay nikkas never fukked with Jay like that.
lol

That's fine except Jay had influence over the whole industry, not just NY. When this nikka Jay said fukk jerseys EVERYBODY got on they grown and sexy. This nikka said fukk autotune, the industry took a hiatus on using the heavy autotune sound. This nikka tried to dead Timbs.........well, he's not god. But the point remains...this nikka Jay would set trends and then deaded them and the whole hip-hop genre would for the most part go along with it. Any nikka paying attention would tell you the same thing

Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are up there with the genres best, I don't see how you can argue that point.

reasonable doubt was just a nice album in 96.

the blueprint dropped in the shytty era of ny so it sounded better than it was. the production was supreme clientele watered down/mainstream accessible.

Stan the shyt out of a generic rapper than question why a good MC who has made 10x as much good music is a legend, brehs.

You're posting things and don't understand what you're reading. Jay sold records from 1996-2012. That is being relevant for a long period of time, in other words, longevity. So it's a FACT he had longevity. A multitude of rappers and fans alike have stated how much influence Jay has had on their lives. More than any other rapper you can name during that time period where he was at the top of the game. So that's also a fact. Classic album is a fact because of the impact it had on the culture.

Again, you're trying desperately to create an argument for something where there isn't any. Everyone says Jay is a legend, you're the only one contesting it, prove he ISN'T one.

A wise man once said don't argue with fools cuz from a distance you can't tell who is who

You've got to separate your personal opinion from fact. Both albums were critically and comercially successful (Platinum plus).

RD and Blueprint both got 5 Mics and XXL. Blueprint was named the best album of the 2000s by Complex and 5th best album since 2000 by Pitchfork.

You may not rate them personally but the fans spoke with their dollars and the critics spoke with their reviews.

rd got 4 mics in the source originally, and was reviewed next to iww with the same score.

best album of the 2000s again doesn't mean a lot, there wasn't much to compete with. it's the trash nyc era. plus it wasn't even the best.

I agree. from 1996 to 1999 he was a nobody.. 2001 he got Ethered.. 2003 he got with Beyonce.. then he bought 0.1% of the Nets, gentrified Brooklyn, ran Def Jam to the ground, and made a couple 3 to 4 mic albums (Black Album, American Gangster).:yeshrug:

I dont see it.

The nikka won a Grammy and sold 5 million albums in 1999 but he was a nobody right?

All his albums except RD have entered the billboard at the #1 spot. He surpassed the Beatles for this recognition years ago. If you weren't there to live it, you would never understand it. You cat's be showing your age.
Thank Def Jam for that.
I was around for it. Live what? You make it sound like people gathered around a tv watching man go to the moon or something. Like Jay dropped an album and it went number one and we were thankful to be alive to witness it. :mjlol:
