NWTS is better in every department. Maybe thats why it isnt album of the year.

Boldy was dope but ALC carries him. Out of the four projects Al did this year Boldy is dead last and thats not saying it was garbage but Willie and DRDC were better in the rhyme department
I got the Albert Einstein for AOTY

It's my album of the year. That said, its barely four mics. shytty year. And P displayed flashes of brilliance rhyme wise on the album, but there was a lot of lyrical doo doo on the album too.

I just wish P would step up his flow and delivery...his voice is fine but half the time he raps as if he's half dead :sadbron:

there's no way the production on Boldy's shyt was better than Prodigy's shyt. stop the madness.

durag dynasty album was better than boldy's shyt (after many more boldy listens, boldy might slightly edge durag dynasty)

imma be honest, when i first heard Boldy I was straight disappointed. but in my head i was like, "nah i gotta check this again" cause i fukks with boldy and of course Al is the man and it grew on me.
grew on me to the point where it's in regular rotation, but it'll still be nowhere near Albert Einsten's heavy rotation when it dropped.

sidenote: y'all stop hatin on the durag dynasty album cause you don't know who planet asia and friends are - shyt is dope as fukk.
double sidenote: i dont understand how nikkas don't know who planet asia is

I got no problem with re-flipping samples though. Alchemist does that shyt all the time. Especially when Traction is way doper than Big Body Benz. Re-flipping samples isn't lazy at all IMO. if anything, I think it takes more effort to go out of your way to try and be creative to make a different sound from the same materials. Consideration is definitely a banger too. I agree with you there.

Fair point, I just personally love Alchemist's creativity with samples and I love all of the obscure shyt he uses in his samples. I was just kind of disappointed it was a track using something I'd already heard and not something new

You'd be surprised how much you've heard that was the same. Like Schoolboy Q "My Homie" and Prodigy "Bear Meat" are the same sample. KRS-One "Grand Course Benches" and Infamous Mobb + TWIN "U Know the Ratio" are the same sample.

Tons more examples. Some of the other stuff on M1CS was on rare Chandeliers and 360 Waves. A lot of times he's just really slick with it and it's hard to tell.

I just meant more how similar it sounded like Bear Meat and My Homie sound NOTHING alike to me

Honestly I don't see how people can shyt on P with that release this year. His delivery and charisma was top notch and with Alc on the boards you got a AOTYC. Boldy James was way too monotone for me. He just didn't stand out whatsoever.

Funny how DRD had the best lyrics, they all murdered every verse, yet the production was prolly my least favorite of the ALC releases. But seriously, people slept on that album. Its fukking tough the whole way thru
