I dunno brehs as good as Curry looked his sophomore and Junior years this kid is looking every bit the part. Maybe he won't reach Curry levels in the league but if we strictly talking college he's kinda looking better than Curry. I'm not talking shooting wise but passing wise and point guard iq and that little floater in the paint this kid is good his shot ain't that far behind either. He's not just putting up empty stats he's controlling the game and has his team on Cruise controller right now. I remember a game where they put 2 guys on Curry all game long they might have to start doing that on trae he's creating 90% of the offense.

You're delusional.

People need to stop hating on the young man. He's up there with the best college basketball players of the last 30 years.

Bro if I got a lottery pick I don't care if it's the 1st pick I'm taking this nikka. His ball handling, footwork, jump shot, passing with both hands. Curry was not this talented at davidson im sorry brehs this kid is better.

If you watch some of his workout videos on YouTube it all makes sense. Dude’s game is way beyond a lot of NBA players much less college players. At the same age most athletic guards are just trying to become a respectable shooter. He’s doing things at 19 that John Wall just learned a year or two ago...

The only knock on him is his size. But I favor ability and talent over athleticism. It won’t happen but imagine this guy with Greg Popovich...

He don’t looks super athletic he looks crafty as hell though. Dunno how well he will translate into the nba as athleticism seems to be really important at that level. With the way he is playing he def gonna get his shot with a lottery team

It’s an issue. You’ll have to hide him on defense but the potential benefits on offense are too much to give up imo. You put him on a team with talent, like the Bucks and you all have major problems stopping them. You still give Giannis his touches but you use The Trae, Giannis pick and roll to exploit the defense. Could do the same thing with New Orleans and Davis and Boogie.

I watched the recruiting rankings like a hawk. He was top 4 rnked pg with duval, sexton, and the other dude. He has that lamelo all stimulus where he pretty much can do anything on the team. He is good tho. 30 and 10 is unheard of and he looks way better than curry at davidson

I really think the only reason people are making that comparison is because they're both light skinned
you're right to an extent but the league will more than likely be full of bookers and mcj and curry's in a decade or so :yeshrug:

He has a beautiful game and I think his bball IQ is well ahead of the curve, but I don't see him doing anything on the next level. I was shocked at how much he struggles to finish, and it's only going to get tougher. The athleticism just isn't there for the height. I'd bet on him turning out to be the next Trajan Langdon before I'd see him as the next Steph Curry.

That said, he has a lot of skills that no teenager should ever have, so if anyone can do it he can. But I'm trying to come up with a successful player who was as small as him and played the way he does in recent memory...it would have worked in the 1990s (when Mark Price as a 1st-team All-NBA guard), but I don't see it working right now.
This kid can really shoot the ball, his first step is quick as hell, and he can handle the ball he out here hitting nikkas with Shammgods, he has great I.Q. (game looks slow to him) and makes smart passing reads with both hands.

He can be an absolute terror in high P&R at the next level and really all he needs to do is look at some Tony Parker film who has similar build and adopts those floaters and crafty finishes at the rim. I’ve already seen him hit runners and little floaters and dust dudes to the rim on some crafty shyt.

I don't think his first step is that special, but maybe I'm wrong. I completely agree that his shot and his bball I.Q. is fantastic. The bball I.Q. at his age is what impresses me the most about his game.

But man, his finishing is just awful from the two games I saw. And he isn't getting anywhere near the rim. I'm not sure how much of it is stuff he can improve on and how much he really is missing NBA height and athleticism.
