Stop making excuses for the nikka. Steph faced even tougher defensive traps his last season and was shining. The comparisons were stupid from day 1 and exposed folks who never truly watched Curry in college.

That lil nikka is nowhere near Curry, and good luck to whoever drafts him cause him crying about teams trapping shows he's soft.
You comparing a junior to a freshman :snoop:

I hope this kid doesn’t this kid doesn’t get bogged down by these Curry expectations

A.This nikka has not been getting played 1on1 lol so I don’t know how you’re determining his likelihood of being locked down by any single defender

B.He doesn’t have to be one of the greatest players of alltime and 2 time MVP to be a high quality player and in the nba .... nikkas need to calm down with the hyperbole or thinking that he has to be Curry’s clone or he’s a bust ..You would be hard pressed to name a perimeter player in this years draft more dangerous off the dribble than he ... I’ve never really heard this complaint about him having the inability to get by people tbh and we will see just how athletic he is once the combine starts ... also he’s taller than both Kemba Walker and Chris Paul ..both “all star” caliber players

C.He definately has his warts like mostly every player in any given draft ..we’ll see more of his measurables once the actual draft season starts ... but like I said before about him ... even if he “only” develops into a LouWill/JCrawford type of bench scorer ..that type of player has a lot of value in the league
How high a pick is a Lou/JC worth tho:patrice:

Last I checked neither has been on a championship team.

Because I'm looking at what he has to do to beat defenders off the dribble and what he has to resort to to try to score at the rim, and it just ain't going to cut it against NBA athleticism. He's going to struggle to get open shots on his own unless someone else is helping get his defender off of him.

The issue is he not nearly as athletic as other short scorers. The only other unathletic short players who have made in this league have been pass-first players, and even then they are rarely stars. If you want to be a scorer, you gotta be able to either get over guys or get past guys. I'm not confident that he can do that at the all-star level.

I indeed project him as a Lou/Crawford level player. You just treating that as a "worst case scenario", whereas I think it's more of a likely scenario. Worst-case scenario, he might be no better than J.J. Reddikk or even Jimmer.

As far as Ayton, right now, they have the worst record in the league.Just having fun with the odds.

On top of that, they own Miami's 1st rd pick this year.As of today, Miami's sitting at pick #15.

They also own Miami's 1st rounder next year. They could probably put together a package like both Miami picks

and Marques Chriss to move back into the top 10....If Trae starts to slide down in that 7-8-9 area.

Theoretically coming away with Ayton & Trae.Hell, I'd even take Michael Porter Jr & Trae...Jaren Jackson & Trae ..etc.etc

Add that to Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, TJ Warren, and Dragan Bender.Suns would be sitting lovely

Do the Suns have the Bucks first round pick from the Bledsoe trade this year?

A lot of excellent players and even MVPs weren’t on championship teams .... is that the singular way we’re determining value now?

Anyways let me put it to you like this ...go back to their respective drafts 2000/2005 and tell me if you can find 10 players ...Combined ... who were better than those two

Yeah I’m not sure what you mean by “what he has to do to beat defenders off the dribble” can you expound on that?

Yeah I don’t really recall Kemba Walker being known for this great “athleticism” I know he was heralded for his first step but overall athleticism I personally just don’t remember that ... I don’t recall Kyle Lowry’s “athleticism” being a point of praise ..would you call Ben Gordon a relatively “great athlete” idk ...anyways those were all 20ppg scorers in the NBA and they seemed to do ok ..I mean when I’ve watched him imo his lacking so called athleticism hasn’t really seemed to be an issue as far as getting open shots ... but like I said that’s why I’d like to see his measurables at the combine and really see what kind of athlete he scores out as ... but yes him finishing in the nba is probably the biggest concern

I indeed project him as a Lou/Crawford level player. You just treating that as a "worst case scenario", whereas I think it's more of a likely scenario. Worst-case scenario, he might be no better than J.J. Reddikk or even Jimmer.
Most teams would be lucky to get a Lou/Crawford type player the only way I see him really being worse than that is if the shot doesn’t translate

&

I don’t really see how you can watch him and envision Jimmer/JJ as neither of those guys had anywhere near his vision or ability to actually run the PG position and find others ... and JJ in particular couldn’t dribble at all in college ...

I don't know if people realize this but the kid is the best ball handler and passer in college and his shot is pretty good. Jimmer and JJ could never dribble like trae does. Crawford and Lou Will never showed a flash of the passing ability Trae has shown in his freshman year of college. He may or may not live up to the curry talks but people are
tripping if they really think Trae is gonna be a bench player or a bust. nikkas is talking bout he getting locked down not realizing they sending the 2-3 players everytime he crosses half court.

How high you picking Trae?
Depends on team a little bit I’d hate to see him go to a coach that doesn’t run an uptempo offense ..but in general I’d say I feel most confident about the skillset in 1.Ayton 2.Porter Jr (If his back checks out) 3.JJ Jr/Trae

So somewhere after the first or second pick
