It irks me to no end to see young Black folks bytch about Boomers when Black Boomers had it 10x as worse as they swear they have it now. Before some Z’er comes at me bytchin, I only say this cause y'all don’t make a distinction of white or Black boomers so I take it you’re bytching about the Black ones.
As mentioned above, I think the best way to go about making this comparison is to look up the out of wedlock birthrates between the bolded generation and the younger generations.

That tells you more about where the friction is than anything.

Maybe, but it is White Gen Z that created "OK Boomer". White young folks are almost more turnt up...but at least they got fat inheritance coming

if anything gen X black folks got comfortable with your white collar jobs because it paid more money but stopped pushing for real change and putting our necks on these cacs in the late 80s and 90s. Now we got brehs were they only hope is Amazon or a call center manager if your lucky so I don't see why they would be immune form the smoke.

Superthug Gen X hates to take accountability for their actions :picard:

Bragging about how you so tough and thorough and well rounded, that their middle aged years are filled with regrets and their grown children, Gen Z, basically will plunge humanity to the ground.

As a proud Gen Xer we were born with built in bullshyt detection. And boy did we ever have to wade through a lot of it. We are the "middle child" of generations. Written off as "slackers" from the jump, and skipped right over. And if your family was impacted by crack, gangs and violence like mine was during that time period of the mid 80s - mid 90s its a wonder that any of us made it through. As a black teenager in the early 90s we were constantly told that half us were gong to jail or would be killed before age 25.
Then we were supposed to be the 1st generation to do worse than previous generations. All I know is me and my circle of acquaintances are pretty well off compared to how a lot of us grew up. My achievements in life have ran circles around the older ppl in my family. So just skip us like every thing else did and blame the Millenials, because Gen. X still don't give a fukk.

Boomers catch heat because they were the loudest group to judge newer gens...

but the boomers track record is one of the worst in the history of our community..

1. Didnt carry the torch of the civil rights movement... they were teenagers when MLK and Malcolm were on cacs necks... they got some rights and higher socioeconomic status than the previous gen and didnt keep pushing like the gen before them did....

2. They started the gangs.... the boomers were the teens in the 60's and twentysomethings in the 70's who actually founded the gangs that still terrorize our communities til this day...

3. The drug epidemic.... look at the timeline. they were coming of age when the civil rights movement was in full swing... the community had actual leaders and active movements,..,.,. but as soon as a few dollars were put in their face they threw all that shyt away and let the cacs route them into the nevernding cycle of addiction and jail.

4. Didn't coordinate their higher earning power to build the community. The gen before them didnt have the rights or upward mobility that they did.... boomers took that opportunity and fumbled on actually building the community with it. They were living better and life was easier so they got complacent.... even small investments back then would have led to generational wealth by now.... they were the last gen that could actually save a sizeable amount of their income.... what did they do with that?

Honestly it goes to show how much kinder the younger black generation is to their elders cuz how many of us seen baby boomers and older Gen X fukk up Grandma's house when the shyt got handed to them?

If both your parents grew up in two parent households but you didn't, yeah they deserve smoke for that.

If both your parents somehow got handed a piece of Grandma's house and all they're about to hand you is some pep talk, yeah they deserve smoke for that.

My neighborhood in Los Angeles totally changed in the 80s with drugs and gunplay started

You seen black parents becoming addicted to drugs

You seen more and more single parent homes, because of the drug game and jail time period

You saw the change in young boys and young girls who main thing was GET IT QUICK AND FAST and u add rap music on top of that about being the flyest, dopest, multiple women, etc etc,,, then that’s when kids out of wedlock numbers was rising and the government offering these women places to stay but no man can be here, and chicks took that bait..

Boomers had a great economy to get money in, don’t act like it’s their hard work that propelled them forward.

I’m strictly speaking on Black Boomers. My parents are barely ahead of where there parents were at the age they’re at now. My folks are MS Delta born and raised. It took a lot for my mom to move tf up outta there 20 yrs ago. My pops decided he didn’t want that life early on and left. He did everything that a lot of his gen believed would get them ahead of the game only for it to not work out like that. And a lot of it wasn’t their fault so no, Boomers, specifically Black ones didn’t have a great economy to get money when the little they were getting, they were sending it back home to take care of the folks who didn’t have any chances. If it ain’t generational shyt, it’s gender, or classism. Don’t y’all ever get tired of these petty ass arguments?

Edit: my peoples are late stage Boomers. What is this great economy they were born in? The 70s? Reaganomics?
