When I was growing up in COGIC

8-9am Bobby Jones Gospel
9:30-11 Sunday school
11:15-1:30/2 morning worship service
3:00 service at another church for pastor appreciation/ church anniversary etc
6:30-8 night service

don’t let them be having a revival or guest preacher; all bets are off and you might not get out of a weekday church service until 10:30-11 and have school in the morning

I’ve seen an offering portion of the service last damn near 20-30 minutes as they collected about 6 different offerings, counted them up and then told the people how much more they needed to raise to bring the offer I my to a round number. Say they raise 534; they wasn’t starting shyt back up until they reached 600

part of the reason I haven’t felt a need to go after I turned 18.

That's what my Mom pretends to accept when my brothers converted to Islam and I am nondenominational. We were raised Baptist.

I know she prays hard for God to make us "see the light" so we won't go straight to hell, lol

Raised Catholic. But instead of Sundays we went to mass on Saturday evenings As a kid my Saturdays were very valuable to me 4pm Sunday Saturday school then 5pm mass. Mass was only 1 hour so it wasn't bad but as a kid 1 hour of being somewhere when you'd rather be somewhere else feels like forever. By 13 my mom just stopped forcing me and my brother to go When we moved to Florida for a year my grandmother would force me and my bro to go to her baptist church twice a month when she'd go and we'd be there for 3 1/2 hours in service. That doesn't even include my grandma socializing afterwards

Couldn't stand church when I was a kid. I never understood why a preacher needed a whole fukking hour to get across his message. I also never understood why we needed a whole other hour before that of hymns, bible verses, collection plates, children's story, etc. And then there's the endless socializing afterwards.

You only get two days off work and they wanna waste time with this shyt.

Southern Baptist 2-4 hours

Catholic an hour to 1.5 hours (very organized)

COGIC/Pentecostal it’s an all day event.

I’m not in the church like I was when I was young, but it use to take all I had in me to sit there 3-4 hours in that Southern Baptist church I came up in.

When I was heavily involved (being the "minister of music")

• 9am bible school for the kids
• 10am bible study for the adults
• 11am praise music and opening ceremonies
  
• 11:30am worship (my favorite part of the service)
• 11:50am more discussion and things to do with the church
• 12pm apostle speaks and gives the word
• 1pm pm tithes and more word
• 1:30 semi closing ceremonies
• 2pm if anybody wants to be saved
• 2:30pm hug people you don't want to hug and lingering
  
• 3pm end of Sunday service for the morning crew

It can be longer if its a 3rd Sunday, but for the most part you are embracing Wrestlemania hours breh, unless you go to a white folks church where it's In and Out (which I don't blame them because 5 hours in church can be a draining ass experience).

Nah fukk that I’m calling my mom tomorrow cuz she gotta explain why she had me doing that dumb shyt. My nephews got it good. They be in church on their tablets, sleep, you name it.

back when i was a kid....i use to go every sunday at 10am. I hated getting up that early. My church had 3 services on that day....and I finally understood why we did the 10am one....because it was only an hour...the other ones were 2-3 hours, and my dad was not about to miss kickoff around 1 oclock
