When I was growing up in COGIC

8-9am Bobby Jones Gospel
9:30-11 Sunday school
11:15-1:30/2 morning worship service
3:00 service at another church for pastor appreciation/ church anniversary etc
6:30-8 night service

don’t let them be having a revival or guest preacher; all bets are off and you might not get out of a weekday church service until 10:30-11 and have school in the morning

I’ve seen an offering portion of the service last damn near 20-30 minutes as they collected about 6 different offerings, counted them up and then told the people how much more they needed to raise to bring the offer I my to a round number. Say they raise 534; they wasn’t starting shyt back up until they reached 600

part of the reason I haven’t felt a need to go after I turned 18.

Got damn nikka how are you not a church arsonist :damn:

As a somewhat Catholic I couldn't imagine being at Church for more than an hour against my will :damn:

God bless you Baptist and Evangelical folk :mjcry:

I feel you. I'm Episcopalian now but grew up Baptist and also went to my grandparents' Pentecostal church too and yeah the time difference is major between Catholics/Episcopalians as opposed to Baptists/Pentecostals! We haven't even talked about how much more time is added onto the clock if Brother John gets filled with the Holy Ghost

I dated this Haitian pentecostal preachers daughter one time. My catholic church I was used to mass being "let's read this verse, discuss the meaning behind it, pass the incense and eucharist around, bounce"

I was in that pentecostal church for TWO HOURS Before her father even got to the stage. And they expected me to be there every Sunday. They were trying be there all day cause there was a.nught service or something too.... :sadcam: doesn't even begin to describe my face

Yeah Baptists and Pentecostals are the marathon racers of the denominations. Catholics and Episcopalians are more like the sprinters lol. My grandparents both were preachers kids and in my family that meant not only all-day/night church service on Sunday sometimes but also daily services too...Monday Bible Study...Tuesday AWANA meetings...Wednesday choir practice...Thursday revival service, etcetera. Plus Vacation Bible School in the summer too so no breaks!
