How Long Did You Take Off Work After Your Child Was Born?

I was fortunate to be afforded 2 months by the City. (New York's Paternal Leave)

None unfortunately at the time was a broke student. But going forward my job now offers paternity leave so I'll be good (8 weeks)

3 weeks, and like was mentioned above, I was ready to get back to work

2 weeks. My girl had a c-section so she needed someone around the house.

Yea, I was in the same situation.

The first few weeks to help her out, I’d be the one that got up late to watch the baby or stay up with her late.

Yea, after a week I was ready to get back to work. My girl was out 2 months

Wasn’t working for my son.


I plan on taking about two weeks unless more is needed next month when my next child is born..

6 weeks is standard, but 3 months is ideal. I went back to work when my daughter was 4 months old.

First child 1 week, second child a month. Hell about to use a week of fml next week

I took off two days, baby mother basically just stopped working entirely for several years. but my mother in law moved in for about 6 months to help.

My biggest fear

i think some information is being left out here.

if u start a job today, and one month from now ur wife has a kid, no, u will not be getting a paid 2 month paternity leave. oh will u? sounds ridiculous.

I took a week off. My boss questioned why I was taking anytime off because her husband never took time off when she had hers.

It sure is.... it’s such a deeper, more intense feeling....

Words can’t describe the lengths I will go to in order to make sure they are ok

Just the day the babies were born and that's it. I was on my grind. With that said. I was able to spend more time with them when they were little.
