Popularity wise I agree, but it wasn't until last year a little before and then after the Meek situation that he just said fukk it and asserted himself and really acknowledged that he's running the game. And this coming from a casual fan, I prefer Cole over Drake any day of the week. And Kendrick's subject matter any day of the week over Drake, though I think Drake makes better music than Kendrick.

But after Back To Back and Hotilne Bling he's been getting that national cac nod which has elevated his name to Taylor/Adele/Rih/Bey status in terms of household recognition
