Once white men get that "genius" classification they never lose it in this society. This dude has been pretending to be some technical mastermind for a decade, and years of free (and paid) publicity has convinced people that he's the man. In reality he doesn't have a technical degree, isn't an engineer, and is largely just a rich guy who bought a company (Tesla) at the right time to push green energy cars.

It seems black folk have chilled on stanning elon since he's really been putting his racism and anti-blackness on display.
I remember following several Entrepreneur type black YouTubers who would stan Elon cause of his wealth. Most of them stopped. Infact, I saw one post an Elon quote about the evils of wokeness and there was a lot of pushback in the comments.
I'm thinking about the dumb ass rappers still stanning him though despite the fact.

I had a conversation with some friends a year ago where they asked me what I thought of Elon Musk. I said he was a bullshytter who's only genius is in his ability to get retail investors and institutions alike to stan his curated image & buy stock. We went back and forth about how the self driving still doesn't work safely after Elon said it was already working more than 5 years ago and the Hyperloop was dogshyt. They basically said I was hating and didn't know for sure because I didn't own a Tesla myself.
Recently one of them sent me this video saying I was on to something.
This YouTuber has a lot of content over the years calling bullshyt on the stuff Elon says in a hilarious british accent. I was only aware of the Hyperloop stuff and the FSD crashing constantly, but holy shyt I had no idea he's been bullshytting this hard for so long.
-Said that Automous driving could drive from Cali to NY back in 2017 without you touching the wheel. Present day they urge you to keep your hands on the wheel after a guy died using it and it's been the cause of at least 273 crashes. Got exposed for making a fake video of the tech working for investors.
- Displayed completely fake solar panel technology to investors
- Said they would land 2 shuttles in Mars in 2022....This year the only launch exploded before it reached the atmosphere.
- Promised a faster, better load bearing truck than diesel with the Tesla semi back in 2017. Only revealed last december and it has none of the power or autonomous tech he promised.
- Pushed regulators away from making new railways in favor of his "Hyperloop" that was supposed to send people 133mph through a vacuum tube and end traffic. Instead they made a fukking underground tunnel with people driving Teslas basically Ubering you through extremely narrow tunnel that is slower than the regular above ground traffic.
-Promised not to dump stock....dumped over 30 billion last year to massively overpay for Twitter and run it in the ground. Breaking a world record for the biggest loss of wealth by a single individual/
And unbelievably there is more. This dude's whole game seems to promise some crazy shyt to come out in a year or two, then twice as many years pass & the moment people begin to think "Hey remember when Elon said he was gonna make XYZ?" he announces a dozen more crazy shyt thats gonna come out in a year or two.
Now we have robots, super AI and mind controlled electronics on the way.
A. He's rich, and people are indoctrinated since birth to worship the wealthy. The fact that he's in the top 3 richest people in the world exacerbates that.
B. He has enough PR that a wide swath of morons will just dismiss criticism as "hating" because how could he not be a genius if he's the richest man in the world? And Tesal! And SpaceX! And chips in brains!
C. Far right move. Morons worship an absolute idiot like Trump. Musk's mask off moment ensures the loyalty of many of that crowd.

Along the coasts, East or West, Teslas and EVs in general are everywhere. In New England, Teslas are about as common as BMWs. Rented a Mustang Mach-e in Detroit last year and it was an EV wasteland.
