Bro, that's why I said "classic/iconic"...

Iconic of course is above classic, but I'll be damned if you trying to tell me Notorious Thugs isn't a classic hiphop song.

if we're talking classic as in Quality + Influence/Impact... then nah

that cause he's an 80s rapper an nobody really fukks wit him less' they listened to him back in the day

BIGs is waaay more notable but i think there has to be a line when calling a song classic when it basically copied another song

I understand the logic of what you're saying but all you have to do is throw Big's version on in a club or party & see what happens. To me that's one of the definitions of a classic

If we're talking earth-shattering, generation-transcendent, still talked about and quoted and sampled today, truly iconic songs (not just the really dope songs like some people are listing)

Hypnotize
Kick In The Door
What's Beef
Mo Money
Notorious Thugs
Going Back To Cali
Ten Crack Commandments

Can make a case for You're Nobody too

The influence is more rappers started moving out of their comfort zones & worked with different regions & started emulating their flows. Big spearheaded that
I'm from Chicago, and Bone was HUGE out here during that time. That style of rapping was big in the Midwest, with groups like Psycho Drama, Twista/Do or Die, and Crucial Conflict. I was a youngin' but I know that Notorious Thugs was a smash out here. Easily one of my favorite Big songs ever

I believe it fam. The flow & sound mimicked your region. Even in NY we couldn't believe he could flow like that & hang with them. It changed the game

I remember that beat playing and going :leon:... "It's Bone and Biggie..."

Then Big kicks off the verse with that, "Armed and dangerous, ain't too many that can bang wit us..." I instantly was like :banderas:

It's the definition of an iconic song. When that beat drops :whew:

Equivalent question: how many songs are on the album?

Yes it did fam. What album formula have all these artists copied for years? Trying to make an album for everyone. That came from Big

that wasn't an album for everyone
and it wasn't even finished, i don't even know if he made the tracklist

also East Coast and West Coast dudes was having Scarface on their tracks back in the day
