Studied Spanish for sixteen years. I’ve picked up and put down Japanese a couple of times. Passively learning Portuguese and French. Used to understand Yoruba as a kid but not so much these days. No problems understanding Patois though

Fluent in English and Spanish. Was briefly interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese though.

One. I know words in Spanish and can read most of some sentences but it's very unlikely I'd be a proficient speaker. I took about 3 years of French but I don't use it.

At this point it's unlikely I will master a second language.

English, French, Spanish, Kiswahili, Lingala (language of Congo)

French I'm more skillful. I listen to a lot of francophone music. Plus I learned through an app.

French is a very romantic language.

Spanish I learned through immersion from my friends and using Duolingo app. It's a B level.

My only issue is trilling R's. I sound like the cookie monster when trilling my R's:russ:

Flirting in Spanish is very smooth.

I want to learn Portuguese before I visit Brazil, Portugal or Angola. Portuguese and Spanish have similar linguistic connotations due to both being Latin languages.

I know basic Italian as well. Affamato Sei = I am hungry

I can read Italian and Spanish at an elementary level. Italian is significantly easier to speak than Spanish because most words flow together like a song. There's a tempo you have to follow when speaking Italian that makes it easier to follow than Spanish or even English

increíble! How did you do it! What apps are you using?😸
Duo Lingo.

Two classes via Zoom twice a week.

I also did an immersion program last summer and I’m going back this summer. I lived in a small Central American town for two weeks and went to school every day except weekends. It was so dope.

Nobody spoke English so you’re forced to learn. That trip taught me how to “think in Spanish” instead of translate in real time if that makes sense. I fell in love with the country 😭😭😭

I could cry just thinking about it. 😭😭😭
