I really need to play this. Bought it on boxing day and haven't touched it yet.

I started Witcher 2 on 360 but tossed it to the bushes because the game play was wack.

Everything I've read about the game says it stands above the pack from other open world games and.most importantly that has been unwavering :ohhh:

Usually open world games get hyped to the moon then 6 months later dudes talking but ehhhh I was caught up in the hype looking back it wasn't that good :francis: but Witcher 3 hasn't been like that.

Not 100% sure you'll like it. The writing/characters are by far the strong points. Combat is mediocre at best. Story overall is pretty generic but the sub-plots are good.

The story in the DLC is better than the one in the normal game.

I really feel like it was one of the best examples of mature story telling in video games. and I don't mean "mature" because they show t*ts and you can fukk bytches. despite being 'high fantasy", or whatever, the story was pretty grounded, and focused on the interactions between characters. you're not some superhero trying to save the world, but rather just a monster-hunter looking for your 'daughter'. and all the side stories you encounter on this journey are also very interesting, and fleshed out

it's kinda like Game of Thrones I guess, where there are dragons, 'white walkers', magic, and other fantasy elements, but the story is really about the interactions between people living in this world
Baldur's Gate...

try the secret world.

It is a pretty old MMO now but it was the sickest open world game. The quest were all unique, and the story is GOD MODE.

Plus, you can use two crazy weapons with all types of skills like duel wielding pistols x katana blade. lol

It's amazing. I did a second playthrough where I wanted to make different decisions and more or less be a bad guy. But I couldn't because of how good the storytelling is. It doesn't feel natural. I'm about ready for a third playthrough.

It's clearly a quality game, just not for me. Hell I enjoyed Fallout 4 more and that game is clearly not on the same level.

I might just be done with those RPGs and spend my time still playing Fight Night Champion :francis:

The first 3-5 hours bored me, but after that, I couldn't get enough of it. Took forever for me to beat tho, as longer RPGs usually do. I thoroughly enjoyed it tho. It's a strong 9/10 in my book. It'd be a 10, but it had an exuberant amount of flaws into this mechanics and whatnot, that while plenty got fixed over time, plenty still exist. I know open-world games can be like that, but it really stepped up the ante in the flawed departments. Combat wasn't as bad as some folks made it out to be tho, but definitely was merely average at best. However, until the Souls series came along and crushed buildings, most action-rpgs weren't all that amazing in the combat dept. and I think due to Souls games, players either lost sight of that or fully expected better of all of them moving forward. While they're somewhat within the same sub-genre, both games are going for different things in all aspects and aren't even that comparable IMO, plus I like the contrast between the two.

Funny thing about Gwent is that I still hated on that game until MUCH later into the game. Like, 60 hours in. When I finally took to giving the game a chance and liking it, I was long pass the part when Baron's quest was closed unforuntately, so I never got around to earning his card.

The studio should make an outright mini-game version of it for like 10 bucks that's online MP and introduce more rare cards and whatnot. Game was hella fun 1nce I took to it.
