i learned to swim when i was real young.
i love going deep and pretending that i'm flying.

if you don't know how to swim just go into shallow water and practice.
it's a very natural activity and is an excellent way to exercise.

My body is exhausted after swimming! Full body workout indeed!

i did laps for 15 minutes a few weeks ago and i was exhausted.
i was surprised at how quickly it tired me out because i'm in pretty good shape...just not used to swimming like that.

My swim lessons are 30 minutes 3Xs a week and I'm exhausted! Best decision I ever made though! My plan is to learn to swim and do it on a weekly basis as a part of my workout.

Then again I grew up attending rec centers in the summer, going to the beach etc.. I never understood the perception of blacks not swimming. Most of the people in my family swim we always went to the public pool growing up. The diving boards was :wow: The only thing I didnt like was when people pissed in the water :scusthov:

My parents got me private swimming lessons when I was little. I enjoy it with a passion. Can do all the different methods/strokes.

If your over 10 and you don't know how to swim you need to revaluate your life

Growing up in Oakland, the only exposure to water sports I had was family picnics at the beach in nearby Alameda. Not an ideal place to learn how to swim. It wasn't until we moved out to the burbs that I tried to learn. My mom enrolled me in a beginner's class at a local high school. "Beginner" unfortunately does not mean complete novice. The very first day they were asking us to perform maneuvers that they never showed us. Since I couldn't do shyt, they told me they'd put me in the deep end if I couldn't perform the tasks. So I next two weeks getting fished out the deep end of the pool.
It wasn't until high school that I got into a pool again. You had to pass a swim test to graduate, which I somehow did. The pool was only 5 ft deep, which helped a lot.
