nah. 4k is a legit huge upgrade in terms of quality and picture. 3D is just a perk that failed horribly. making the jump to 4k is like going from 440p to 1080p. Companies would be stupid enough not to do it. But they arent doing it any time soon though so its really not worth it to get a 4k TV.

right i dont get why everything gotta be the best of the best quality. its all marginal upscales at most.i still get 720p rips of movies

Once we get release dates on the 4K blu-ray's I'll upgrade my tv. They need to sort out the HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 issues as some products will not support 2.2 passthrough. I might consider upgrading the pc monitor to 4K for photography work.
