Because it's the truth. If this forum were primarily Asian, Indian and White, you wouldn't be mentioning statistics because they are stereo typically high earners. LOL so if it were a specific career forum, it'd be believable? Celebrities have posted here and SOHH Also some people are 20+ years in their fields. Why not look up average salaries by industry or trade instead? May 2018 National Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates Go straight for the hater statistics.



Why isn't it ok for someone making $120k to want $145k? You don't know their expenses or financial goals. Most people usually want to make more, no matter their current salary.

I don’t want to argue, just bring awareness. You don’t HAVE to make an “average” salary if you don’t want to. There are legal pathways that are drugs, sports, or entertainment. On SOHH (an older forum) I’ve met insurance brokers, stock traders, IT professionals, and engineers, all making six figures or more.

Ill be 33 next month. Roughly 12k or so monthly tax exempt. I work from Home, no boss just work alongside an agency. No certs no degrees. When I did the math it placed me over 200k (220k if I remember correctly) If I were taxed at what my net is (38% bracket?)

I can possibly double that money in a year or less if I plan and coordinate right. Not an easy job if you dont have patience and love for what youre doing.

May seem like a lot to some on the coli and trust me, (I do come from humble beginnings) but honestly this is just the baseline for someone who has a lot of dreams and ideas(and wife and kid to boot)
I dont feel no man, whether race or ethnicity is better than me, so If he has something I like, If I want it Ill get it eventually.
After seeing what it felt like to go employed for an entire year in 2012, 2013 and having to sleep on ya moms couch and I made changes to my then state of living.
My next step is to try and buy a house next month.

My female coworker made 150k last year. There’s a dude who works for one of our competitors and he made close to 300k last year. He got fired from our company a few years ago because he was horrible at his job. They work the exact same discipline.

His current company has a way better bonus structure so he’s making a killing, even though he’s garbage by our standards

Should my female coworker not be like “damn, I’m leaving money on the table”?

Bullshyt. When people say most people here are telling ducktales it’s based on simple logic. The percentage of Americans making six figures are tiny and vast majority of those making those figures are over 45.
It’s a figure most Americans will never ever come close to making. It’s even rare amongst black people(another fact.) So you basically telling us that some obscure forum filled with young black people have somehow bucked this trend and are making 6 figures?
