I pay like $20 a cut for me and my son, but most of the time he'll just want an edge up, so that fine with me. As far as tipping i tip ever now and then, not because I'm cheap just don't be having change. When the cuts was $15 i would tho.

As far the what they make a year I'm sure it's some good money. Gotta be upwards of $50 to $60k and that's not even including what the popular ones that make way more.

I'd say most career barbers in major cities with average amount of clients SHOULD be clocking $50K (part of it being Tax-free) nowadays

The way i look at it:
  • Haicuts costs $25 + tip these days so let' say ~$27 per cut. (I rarely give mine less than $30)
  • If you cut an average of 10 people a day for 5 days that's $1,350 a week.
  • Let's say they work 48 out of 52 weeks out of the year that comes up to $64,800
Again before you come at me REMEMBER i said average. I know some days cats get way less than 10 people. Sometimes you may get more. Hell you could drop that number down from 10 cuts to 7 and that's still over $45K a year

If they are smard they deduct some of the fees they pay to the shop out of their taxes they'd still be up there.

Before I moved, I'm pretty sure my Barber made around $100k per yr.

But for some math:

$20 a cut x 6 cuts a day x 300 days = $36K

That's before rent. And not including a lot of shops being closed Sunday and Monday. Add vacation, sick days and fukk it days...

I would say an above average barber that's grinding can get 6+ cuts a day.

You have a few balling.

Most are day to day like everyone else.

I'll prolly say a decent amount prolly makes below min wage....

Unless you own the shop, only accept cash, or cutting out of your crib studio fees and taxes gonna eat into that gross period. If you really think the average barber clearing 50-60k you crazy. Those fukking schools would be flooded year round.

Ive been the service/cosmetics industry for years now. Hair stylists and barbers arent clearing bank like that on average. Ofc you got the hot boy celebrity ass nikkas or super hustler making bank but thats like 1-5%of the field. You just have to think with the way the economy is now if you go to barber school and come out making 50k why isnt everyone on it? Cosmetics ain a ez field at all to cake in, you need a myriad of different skillsets to truly succeed

This cat charging twice the price for some standard ass cuts :laff:

NYC those same cuts range from $18 to $40 including the tip.

$50 is starting. :francis:

Don’t even include the beard. :francis:

Gotta trim my beard at home to stay within my grooming budget for the month :francis:

Support black businesses brehs. :francis:

You paying for the location though. It’s the equivalent of having a shop on Fifth Avenue in NYC.
