Depends on where in Silver Spring you're talking about. the closer to the DC line and the closer to the metro stops the more expensive.

I love my spot. There are nicer ones in my area for a similar price too. I like that the newer ones come with cable/internet included.

My old roommate bought a house and wanted me to move in with him. But I was able to afford my own spot so I splurged and found some nice ones!

it's all about the amenities for me: washer/dryer/dish washer, pool, highspeed internet, and at least two bedrooms.

outside of a major city, i can't imagine paying over $1200 for a 1br.
