Nice? 1200-1500 for one bed, 1600-2000 for 2. Affordable housing units in the hood obviously are less but that defeats the purpose of a nice apartment IMO

Like how does a one bedroom apartment cost more to rent than a whole house? They say the housing market gonna crash but I think the rental apartment market is going to flatline, shyt don't make any sense to me.

That is affordable. I was browsing spots in NYC, and it’s like $2500 for studious. Compared to that, Chicago is cheap.

A median price of 2K for 1 bed ain't cheap. It's just less unaffordable but that's not a knock on the CHI cause right now there seems to be no "affordable" real big cities.

NYC is huge I will say you can get nice 1 bedrooms in older buildings for less than 2K in parts of Queens and Southern Brookyn and MOs definitely The Bronx/Staten.

New 1 bedroom are def going to cost you more than 2K a month.


It really depends on where you go honestly.

If 2700 a month for 1 bedroom is only 30%-40% of your monthly gross income than your rent isn’t expensive for you despite how high it seems
