I actually love this shyt. It's just so ignorant and obtuse :lolbron:.

Besides if his congregation doesn't care, why should we?
i just don't like seeing black people taken advantage of. sometimes people need to be saved from themselves, but it is what it is. people get exploited. that's life.

The Scripture imply that some of the Apostles may have been rich...but the point is,
they didn't get rich off of preaching. Jesus told them:

Matthew 10:8 - "You received free, give free."

I was using apostle paul and peter

you had guys like Joseph of Arimathea who were rich and on that harry belafonte for martin luther king jr type steez

Most churches are not exploiting their members
Unfortunately the tiny few bad ones get the headlines.

As I said before you need to go to a church where you can have access to the book and the church has a board. At my church where I tithe I can call up the church accountant and go over the book anytime and see exactly where the money is going (no pastor at my church draws a salary).

All churches should be taxed 20% unless they are using 50% or more of their offerings to develop the surrounding neighborhoods/communities (Small Business, Housing, education, homeless, etc...)

I think it's criminal that over the last 40 years black churches have taken in billions of dollars but yet our neighborhoods continued to erode and get gentrified.

If you have a “higher calling” then led God lead your ass to some money that doesn’t include you siphoning money from your congregation...

We literally have a nikka named CREFLO DOLLAR with a private jet:scust:

I don't even think creflo draws a salary, years ago when I attended this prosperity church :picard: they were trying to get creflo for a conference and dude wanted 25,000

Paul started as a prominent Pharisee - meaning he was a Jewish lawyer.
So the inference is he had hella bank, but he left that to do God's work and was a tent maker
after that to support himself.

It is inferred that not only was Peter a fisherman, but was part of a fishing operation with Andrew, James, and John - which is how they all knew each other before they met Jesus. In Luke chapter 5, it says they were all "partners" and that The Sons of Zebedee (James and John) were "sharers with Simon" who is Peter. Business had to be pretty good for them because it suggests in places that they were well off. That's why the record shows Peter being emotional when Jesus asks Peter if he loves him more than these (fish).

My FIL is a pastor of a mega church satellite church and he makes in the 6 figures. I don't know how much exactly but he has a nice house, a german luxury coupe and a german luxury SUV and buys suits from neiman marcus. I'd guess more than $100K but probably less than 200k. The pastor of the main location is no doubt a millionaire tho, has a jet etc.
Considering the amount of work my FIL does every week....I say $80-100K is fair for a large church. He works 50+ hours a week easy. Funerals, bible studies, sunday service, marriage counseling, outreach, and admin stuff he does for the mega church. it's not unusual for him to be working until like 11pm

As much as his poorest congregation member.
that way, the only way he gets his JesusJet, is if everyone in his congregation has one.

The church is the first (sometimes only) corporation black people buy stock in. The current system that black folk have only shts out money, while other groups don’t. Scientologist use their church as a tax haven and to buy stocks, Jews use synagogues to buy property and entire blocks, Mormons buy hotels and distribute rental money to congregation.

black folk just buy canned goods and backpacks.

This is like a half of the details debate.

For every mega church we see, or hear about, they are prolly 100 regular, run of the mill struggle churches.

I remember my moms going to a church that was ran out of someone's living room for a few months.

I currently live within walking distance of 5 churches. And that's just the 5 I absolutely know about. And only 1 is in a larger, "nice" building.

With that said, some Pastors are in it to really change lives and others are robbing the ppl blind. But most are somewhere in the middle of those 2 extremes.
