Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Additional Child Tax Credit

Only for the delay

I claimed my daughter made over 65
Still got my taxes back early

Eitc is for people that made less than 40 with 1 kid
The additional child tax credit is for people with 2 kids
From IRS

Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2018, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return.

Why is my refund being held?
If you claim the EITC or ACTC on your tax return, the IRS must hold your refund until mid-February. The law requires the IRS to hold the entire refund — even the portion not associated with the EITC or ACTC. Like previous years, some tax refunds may be held if there are questions about the tax return or the IRS needs more information.

I think they are holding them all, regarding if it’s your first timing using the credits or not. Says they won’t even process them until the 27th of February if you have it on there

I guess they cutting down on people “borrowing” kids and family members to get it

TurboTax gets your money bro. So, you think they sat down and built a software for the masses to fill their taxes for free ? Free ? You get scammed less than going to HR Block, but you still get scammed. They get the money on the back end. That's why you have those User Agreement forms you sign. It's very lucrative business. Turbotax owner doesn't have to lift a finger and money is raining in his account every time somebody files

I used them 1 year and I was getting back 500. So, I went to the guy my boy referred me to for a comparison. He charged 300 to file but I made 2500. Following year, he said he'll give me a break. I didn't know what he meant, but I made 2850 back with the same income and same dependants. It's all about the software breh.

you paid $300 to have your taxes filed?:francis:

i pay my local chinese accountant $65 and on average get 5k back:blessed:

Yeah I was thinkin she was gonna hook me up with some info I’m not aware I could add or some shyt then I was like wtf is this? I’m scared to lie to the IRS then she simply texts back “it’s legit fool” :francis:
it's not legit but the IRS doesn't care about little things like that. Their hands are full with fraudsters filing taxes with homeless and dead people socials
