Dr Dre's Detox is a running joke in hip hop that it's never gonna come out and couldn't live up to the hype if it did, but there's a scenario in which it could blow past the hype it already has.
Imagine if for every classic or big project/time period Dre has worked on, that he saved 1-2 potential hits and stashed them away rather than putting them on the album.
we know there's a lot of music he never puts out, and has worked with a lot of big names without any of the songs ever coming out. if he has been saving potential 'hits' from each classic he was apart of, and then released an album filled with him, he could release something that blows past the crazy hype detox already has.
listening to it would be like revisiting a time period, while still hearing something new
imagine an album with...
1-2 unheard would be GKMC hits
1-2 potential Hits from GRODT
1-2 from MMLP
1-2 from the Documentary
and so on from all the big projects he's worked on.
would be the most nostaligc album ever revisiitng all these time periods while still hearing new shyt.
how much would it sell if he dropped it randomly?
