I rarely call in. I have a job that I travel around the state a good bit. Im a platinum member with hilton and when I get sick of work. I just schedule a trip to New Orleans and get a suite at the Roosevelt. I get a couple of days of peace and quiet :blessed:

im notorious for taking hundreds of hours of PTO in a year lol. But i have no reason to "call off" when I can take pto anytime, and make my own schedule.

Like today is my bro bday, I just worked in the morning. Left out for lunch to celebrate. Will probably work some more tonight

Last year it was several times a month. This year I haven’t had to call out at all. We don’t really get any penalty for it though, especially if we pre applied for FMLA.

Never

Only if I have paid time off

People would be surprised how much leeway a job will give u if you show up early, stay late and never call off.

I could tell stories but I won't. What I will say, the work ethic u bring to the job u don't wanna be at is the same work ethic your gonna display if u ever run your own business and its one of the biggest causes of failure. If u can't come into work when a team is depending on you and punishments can take place, u damn sure are not gonna be going to work your own business consistently when there's no one telling you what to do. Nobody cares if u stay home

I've seen people lose everything and be right back filling out applications

Never call off

Used to plan monthly call offs :mjlol:. It was so bad a nikka would literally wake up some days like "Have I called off this month already?":why: Actually love my job now and have all kinds of freedom so I only call off if I am actually sick or there is an emergency.

I see your point and agree to a degree but we talking different levels of investment and interest. It takes so much time and effort just to start your own business and its most likely gonna be something you are interested in. No comparison to entry level positions where you are just a cog in a machine to make somebody else rich or look good.

I see your point as well

But u misunderstand me. I was homeless on the streets at the age of 20/21. I had to work through the Florida labor pools to make money, showing up at 4am to a place that didn't open to 5am to make sure I could work. I've dug ditches, desposed of dead dog carcasses at the pound, stacked oranges u name it

Didn't know how to cook, got a job working fast food a cause food was my main expense after rent. Picked up another, worked 2 at the same time. Got recruited into a kitchen and took off with it. Then one of my cook friends suggested a food truck, so I put my money together and instead of buying a new car I invested in myself.

Just over 10 yrs later I bought a house where I'm from in full.

I'm the same person who was standing alone by myself surrounded by drug addicts waiting for the labor pool to open. I'm the same person who showed up everyday at the fast food spots with a smile on my face glad to help people. I'm the same cook who used to go out to the lobby and take peoples orders when the servers fell behind, id run the run the food if I had a chance, be damned if I let anyone out work me, I'm the hardest worker around this bytch.

All of this was applied to my business. If you're a cog in someone else wheel then it's the perfect time to learn, gain experience, and build your resume. Taking days off is not how I got here, but I have seen people fall, I've people fall off so bad they dead and now it's RIP in memory of.

I've said too much

No days off
