Seeing as how many of us are SOHH vets from over 25 years ago damn near this question is silly
I was 18/19 when I started there and there were plenty older than me. Last poll I saw the average age was in the 30s and that was five years ago

You're better off asking how young is too young.
This makes a lot more sense.
Since MySpace and Facebook took over social media, message boards stopped being the popular form of communication online. If that happened around 2005, the last people who came up in the message board era would be in their mid thirties.
