How old were you when you started coming home at all hours of the night?

8th grade. So 13. I wasn't out wildin for the most part and I would always tell my mom where I was, or the area I was around.

Also this was only during the summer, weekends, or some type of holiday. Otherwise, I needed to be in the house by 9:30. In high school that 9:30 changed to 11.
Yeah all the single mom kids. They Mom usually didn't give a fukk and was doing her own thing.Y'all got out early.Like 12-13.Y'all was the ones getting everyone in trouble.

when I turned 16 I really didn’t have a curfew as long as I was in the house around 1am 2am in the morning during the summer they wouldn’t trip and around 11 on school nights but I was sneaking out the house at 14 so my girl could sneak me in her crib :pachaha: To be a teenager in the 2000s:blessed: no ring or other outdoor security cameras,no Xfinity home system and no alarm telling you which window or door is open it was easy to sneak in a girl crib back then

At 18, my folks told me that if I’m not home by 0100, then don’t bother coming home at all that morning/night. Had to wait until the next day. Those were the rules and I followed them. I figured that they weren’t that bad. I’d get home at 12:57 AM every night like clockwork. Their asses would be sleep anyway.
:yeshrug:

Ended up moving out permanently and getting my own pad at 19 anyhow.

Memories, before cell phones. Young kids hanging out on the street. It was common for us to be outside in the summer until dark when we was pree teens. I think they even coined a name for that. It was a different back in the city in the
when i went to college ... tf?

i tried it in high school once, my dad slapped me when i got home and that was that :pachaha:
I can tell you was sheltered a lil bit. Your father did a good job , protecting you from the wolves that were 12-19. I'm a lock key baby, we only went home if the street lights turned on. Some nights the streets night didn't turn on lmao.

I started taking the public bus at 2nd grade. I had a orange metro card. When I used to goto the bus stop the book bag was like 15 lbs. They actually changed the policy in nyc to prevent young kids from carrying books so heavy, it was fukking up some kids backs and some kids were passing out tryna walk up stairs.

We used to use our jansports as a weapon . Swing a jansport bookbag with mad books in it. Lmao

At about 14 I started doing all the shyt I do now.

Drinking smoking trying to fukc and coming and going as I please. Moms didn't like it and tried to ground me but I would just bounce anyway. Guess she got used to it and quit trying to police my actions after a few months.

My mother wouldnt sleep unless everyone was home.

I used to spend a lot of time at Internet Cafe's so I'd be out until like 1am sometimes when I was 11 - 15 so much so that I even made friends with other kids at the Internet Cafe.
:russ:

I probably spent over $8000 over the years. We bought a family PC when I was 13 but I didn't own my own personal computer until I was 17.

There were other times where I'd hang people who were like 16 - 18 when I was like 13.

This was kinda how it was at my grandparents house. When I was in college, they lived close by, so I’d go over there from time to time. My grandpa didn’t play. He locked the door every evening before he went to bed around 11pm. If you weren’t home by then, he wasn’t unlocking the door. I’d drive up, and if I saw them lights off, I knew I wasn’t getting in. Luckily, my aunt was their neighbor. I’d just go over her house.

Never, I'm in my 30s and still don't do this, low key it's almost my bedtime :flabbynsick:

But it was less about my parents and more that just wasn't social like that. Just wasn't that interested in being in the streets at 2am, rather play video games.

Pretty sure my parents actually wished I went out more. :yeshrug:
