how probable is a Philly resurgence?

2.) you need to learn how to read. I clearly stated TWICE that I'm not cosigning the idea of a resurgence(and it has nothing to do with talent), so what the hell are you trying to argue with me about?

I'm just sitting here trying to hear some new dope Philly cats. You from Philly what's the dope new blood, all I know is Meek, Uzi, PnB Rock, Dark Lo/Ar-Ab, Omelly, Louie V. Gutta out the city right now. Who popping in Philly?

For what reasons would you say Philly was shut out of the industry? To clarify, I'm not implying that you're wrong, i'm simply asking what you think the reasons might be...

Probably because there are no labels here, and no one in Philly can get a deal, even with the abundance of talent. Aside of Meek, I don't think there's another Philly rapper signed to a label right now. The irony is that Philly rappers have plenty of connections and relationships with people in the industry. And Philly is still a major market.

But as for a "Philly resurgence", there's no such thing because Philly never left. Our rappers are still active, still working, putting out music, videos etc. People can't say you don't need a label/major in 2016 then ignore all of Philly's rap scene...people who are doing just that.

Cosmic Kev has always been a problem in my opinion. The "pay for play" shyt he does with The Come Up show is corny as hell instead of just helping the young artists in the city get on. DJ Drama too. Rarely claimed Philly till Meek popped then signed Uzi Vert of all people.
I just can't really rock with him. He's doing his thing but that punk rock trap sound he does just isn't for me I guess. I fukk with Kur, PNB Rock, Quilly, Garci, Rediroc, Fchain etc though.

NY is on a good trajectory if they can just stay away from that trap shyt and stick to that new age boom bap 90's shyt. That suits them better IMO.
