How racist is the New England area (MA, NH, Maine, Vermount) compared to other parts of the country?

I’ve always wanted to visit the area during the autumn season so I booked a 6 day trip up there for next week and I will be visiting Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine during my trip there. I was wondering if anyone ever been to one of those areas and how much racism should I expect to encounter there? I’m aware that New England is very white and I should expect it at some point but I just wanted to know how severe it is compared to like the South, West and Midwest.

More subtle, less overt than what you’d experience down south. Some might call that better, but I happen to think the covert racism joined by the smiles of liberal white allies carries a unique weight that is harder to bear than the southern brand of naked anti-blackness.

I still much prefer living in New England, though.

What exactly do you think will happen to you? Lynched? Refused entry to hotels and restaurants? Just go and have a good time and stop worrying about travelling to a place because you might get some mean looks.

Coli nikkas with their ‘I want my racism out to open’ and also ‘can I travel to this city? Is it racist?’:mjlol:

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
You will be fine, the racism up there is mostly confined to sporting events, and dive bars, just don’t go to any of those and you should be fine! What part of NH are you staying, it’s been a couple decades since I lived there. I can tell you pretty much how nice any town or city in NH is.

VT are the Ben & Jerry crowd of legit liberal/libertarian hippies (w/money and not dirty) yes they are insanely, inhumanly nice. You halfway expect a Stephen King plot twist where they all eat people or some really really dark shyt :lolbron::laugh:

Mass and upper NH are where the cism starts and is pretty obvious.

Not super familiar with Maine.

There are pretty sizable communities of African refugees in parts of NH- never interacted with them but they exist.
