why wouldnt it work? it got to the point where funkdoc was posting underground shyt from 5 years that nobody listens to prove the "balance"

rap is pretty much garbage, even rappers that are considered conscious and intelligent have albums that devolve into diatribes involving "fuk, bytch, nikka, shyt"
What if that's the only thing real nikkas like myself want to listen to?

I'm not trying to get an education from rap.

I want year nikkas talking fly over dope beats

at the end of the day its a free country, you can listen to whatever the fuk you want

im making a critique of hip hop and rap music and im stating my opinion that rap music has led to a distortion and degradation of african american culture and image and we as black people need to put an end to it

but thanks to you and others for sharing your thoughts, people called me names and a liar for saying that black people have acquiesced to white executives definition of hip hop, but as can be seen in this thread there are people that will write essays and lash out in anger to defend white executives views of hip hop, proclaim their allegiance to "real nikka" music and angrily reaffirm that the degradation and exploitation of the image and culture of african americans is not a real issue

i rest my case

Doc-Rivers.gif

that's what niccas is doing now? making dance videos with daughters?
niccas need to get back to doing manly things and putting time in things that really matter and being a father. i see fathers these days have been reduced to babysitters but niccas need to be doing real things like helping kids being academic instead of worrying about facebook videos.

of course that guy above is light lights better than this dummy

niccas pull up at lights and the songs they got playing with their kids in the car make you :what:

And now you're just lying since a) most of the links were from the last 4 years-to-present, b) plenty of people listen to them, and, c) I didn't post them to prove 'balance'......

Hip-hop doesn't concentrate on 'hoes and drugs'. What you choose to listen to concentrates on 'hoes and drugs'.

i went through your links one by one and showed that the average age was 3 years and you included rappers few people have heard of, so 1) most of your links are more than 3 years old b) nobody listens to them c) you posted those links to show that there was negative stuff songs back in the day, i posted equivalent songs, not underground songs of the same period to show that it was balanced you cant post drake and strange fruit project are not equivalent in their impact or popularity, slick rick and public enemy are equivalent in impact and popularity

2 Types of people listened to hip hop during its "Golden Age".
People who listened for the culture.
People who listened for the sounds.

I represent a third type of people who listened to hip-hop during the 'Golden Age'.

The group that remembers what it was like when hip-hop didn't exist.

Tell me what role rap played in banks redlining blacks post civil rights ? Go ahead and tell us what rap did to create gender conflict within the african american community ? Did rap destroy the black family by providing security/housing for the black woman ? All while limiting job opportunities so the males had to resort to crime and thus imprisonment ?

Hiphop/rap is a product of the disenfranchised youth who have no job opportunities, no family structure, no enforcement arm to curb them, no economic base ............nada nothing .........

There were serious problems before hiphop ever existed ..I love the 90's Golden Era but unfortunately that hypermasculine thug image is biting black people in the ass today .....

Me personally I love all that money and hoes sh!t because i'm a capitalist and a hedonist. I can relate because it motivates me and aligns with my own personal goals.

i agree with this... that's why i say it's mostly their fault.

but still we can't just accept what they want hiphop to be and use it to destroy the black community.

money don't mean nothing. yes we now live in a culture that worships money. but that money culture is destroying the black community/neighborhoods.

i have a better idea why dont you tell me where I said that rap music played a role in redlining and why dont you tell me how redlining alleviates black people from taking respoisbility for our own culture?
Go ahead and tell us what rap did to create gender conflict within the african american community ?

why dont you tell me where i said that rap created a gender conflict withing the african american community and what the fuk is this gender conflict that you are referring to, i dont give a fuk about a gender conflict, you mean like the shyt that goes down in tlr? miss me with that shyt

? Did rap destroy the black family by providing security/housing for the black woman ?

where did i say that rap music destroyed the black family by providing security/housing for the black woman?

well i never said this but now that yo mention it rap does limit job opportunities when motherfukers try to rap for a living when they should be focusing on school and/or job applications

Hiphop/rap is a product of the disenfranchised youth who have no job opportunities, no family structure, no enforcement arm to curb them, no economic base ............nada nothing

and so what? what is that suppose to mean? is this suppose to be an excuse for letting rap turn into a cesspool?

There were serious problems before hiphop ever existed ..I love the 90's Golden Era but unfortunately that hypermasculine thug image is biting black people in the ass today .....

my point is that its black peoples' fault for letting it happen

rap became a cesspool through an alliance between negroes and white executives wanting to make money and other black people not giving a fuk

Me personally I love all that money and hoes sh!t because i'm a capitalist and a hedonist. I can relate because it motivates me and aligns with my own personal goals.

everybody has enjoyed it and that is why black people have to also take responsibility for the cessppol called rap music, rap music would not have become what it is without the acquiescence of black people
