I remember school lunch was completely different than up north.
My first day(second grade) we was eatin Okra and i was like, tf is this slimy shyt.
I feel you. I don't eat anything that I can't recognize, that's just me

Poke Salad taste like a mix between Spinach and Turnips. You have to boil them at least three times to get all the poison out though.

A good portion of it comes from we ate the way our parents and grand parents did, without any of the actual physical labor they had to put in on a daily basis to get by in the south
